We are in transit from New Zealand and stayed at the Holiday Inn A55 over Xmas. A little disappointed that, after a long journey from NZ, we had to pay an extra 20 pounds to check in a few hours early (hence 4 stars), but otherwise a comfortable stay. Special mention to Jules, who cooks the most awesome traditional 'Full English' (I would stay here again just for that!) and Garman, who was only too pleased to run around the restaurant to look after your every need. Staff are friendly, and the rooms are quiet and dark, allowing a very restful sleep. Rooms are clean and housekeeping was great. Well done :)

We have been booking our organisations celebrations here at HIA55 for the past 10 years. We dine in the The Vivaldi suite twice a year. We are grateful to Jen, Alex, Harriett, Gabi and all the friendly staff. The room is exquisite, beautifully decorated and set out. From the organisation, preparation, presentation and the hospitality, we have received each time we book, makes hosting so much easier! The staff at HIA55 make it so seamless. The bar and hospitality staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is delicious and a lot of our guests two nights ago, said it was the best meal they’ve had and it keeps getting better every year. A few of our guests have stayed over, those that travel quite a distant and were thrilled with their rooms, clean and comfortable. They said the breakfast was laid out beautifully and a wide range of choices. Especially for those with dietary requirements! A huge thank you to all at Holiday Inn A55

Stayed to go shopping at Cheshire oaks which is a 16 minute drive away. Convenient location, loyalty for using IHG recognised. Given a free birthday drink which was nice. Room.....mmmmm not upto the usual standard, maintenance required. The toilet wasn't even attached to the floor!! It literally moved as you sat on it! Reported to staff but not remedied and not offered another room which was disappointing. We felt the staff here were not that bothered although all were pleasant Used the restaurant both nights. Excellent food on both occasions but service needs some attention. We were given dessert menu and just left for 30 minutes so we left without desssert!

Our stay at Holiday Inn A55 Chester West was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The staff here deserve the highest praise – they were not only professional but also genuinely caring, going above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well looked after. Check-in was smooth, friendly, and stress-free, and from the very first moment we felt welcome. The rooms were clean, spacious, and spotless, with everything we needed. A special mention has to go to the team who provided an oil radiator when I mentioned I have a lung condition that flares up if I get too cold. That small but thoughtful gesture made such a big difference and helped me stay well – it really showed how attentive and considerate the staff are towards individual needs. The mini refrigerator in the room was also extremely helpful for keeping my medication stored safely, which gave me peace of mind throughout the stay. Room service was excellent, with a wide variety of food options available. Everything we ordered arrived quickly, was well presented, and tasted delicious. It made evenings so much easier and more enjoyable. We chose this hotel for a Comic Con at Llangollen Pavilion, and the staff again went out of their way to support us. As a wheelchair user, transport can sometimes be a challenge. They explained that Uber drivers don’t usually come out to this area, but instead of leaving us to figure it out, they personally helped us find reliable local private taxi firms to get us to and from the event smoothly. The hotel itself was also very accessible, with plenty of space in the corridors and lifts, which made getting around so much easier. Another bonus was the location – right across the road from McDonald’s, which was so convenient for grabbing a quick bite when we needed it. Parking on-site was simple and accessible too, which really helped with all of our luggage. The overall atmosphere in the hotel was calm and welcoming, making it the perfect base for our trip. This hotel doesn’t just provide a place to stay – it provides peace of mind, care, and comfort. The value for money was excellent given the high standard of service, facilities, and genuine thoughtfulness from the staff. A huge thank you to the amazing team who made our trip completely stress-free and memorable. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and highly recommend Holiday Inn A55 Chester West to anyone looking for a welcoming, accessible, and accommodating stay. Top tip: Uber doesn’t operate in this area, but Formula Elite Taxis in Mold were reliable and wheelchair accessible – highly recommend them if you need transport locally.

Venue Hire Review: My dad recently passed away and we wanted somewhere private to hold a Celebration of Life with his family and friends. I therefore reached out to a few places to find out what they could offer and enquire about the room and buffet options they had available. The Holiday Inn Chester West replied quite quickly, but most importantly they offered their condolences before going into any kind of sales pitch, which the other companies did not. Harriet sent us a lovely Celebration of Life brochure and said that we were welcome to visit to see the room available, so we arranged to take my mum up a couple of days later. We were extremely impressed with what was on offer for the price and therefore paid the deposit there and then. On the day itself the service provided exceeded our expectations. The room was beautifully decorated and just the right size for our guests. The food was delicious and plentiful and there was a great choice available to suit all tastes. There was a Bluetooth speaker available, so we created a Spotify playlist of some of my dads favourite songs which helped to create a lovely atmosphere and the staff also helped us to set up a photo display that I had created, along with a beautiful memory table. All of the staff were absolutely brilliant and I cannot thank them enough for helping us arrange a lovely Celebration of Life during what was a difficult and emotional time for us all.

I've stayed here a couple of times for work purpose and have to say it's lovely here. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Doesn't matter what time of day. All super friendly and helpful. Rooms are lovely and clean and food is very good also. Will be here again in New year for sure

It's situated right next to the A55, but traffic noise is not too bad. You're only going to hear the really big stuff go past. The rooms are spacious, though the oil filled radiator took a little time to warm the room up sufficiently. Breakfast was good. There's a decent selection, but I wasn't a fan of the pepper on the mushrooms. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Stayed one night. Room 309 was okay, fairly modern, could do with being a little more clean, there’s sockets next to mirror & table for my partner to do make up hair etc, could do with sockets next to bed (phone charger), Wi-Fi was free and decent enough, we had room service which was quick and food was good, breakfast was good, buffet style like at an all inclusive hotel help yourself with good choice which makes it worth the £12. Overall the hotel delivered on what I expected with a few improvements needed but not the end of the world.

Would have given much higher rating if the price of breakfast was communicated accurately. Was told 7.50 when checking in and then charged 12.50 in the morning by a different staff. No written information on price anywhere at the reception or restaurant. Not sure if this is deliberate or lax management.

Nice hotel. I enjoyed my stay, but it's a bit out of town and you have to exit onto the dual carriageway, and take the first exit to come back on yourself if heading into Chester. I did not eat evening meals but had breakfast which was a nice selection. Room was pleasant and I'd stay again.
