Notified the gym I had moved location and needed to cancel my membership a month early. I gave 30 days warning as I was instructed to and but was still getting emails about being charged. Customer service were completely unhelpful and I sent a complaint email, which I’m still waiting to hear back from. In the mean time they have added on £50 late payment fees even after I have told them I’ve cancelled it.

Very mixed feelings about the gym. The staff are lovely and I like the location. However, the gym feels very dated, the equipment is old and clunky. There is not enough of popular equipment like cable machines or squat racks. You are often waiting to get on equipment. It's often not helped by the fact that you get a lot of younger people standing around using their phones as opposed to actually using the machines. It's rare you see people putting back weights or tidying up after themselves which is something I've not seen in previous gyms. Apparently the gym is getting a refurb by end of year, I'll wait to see what this is like as this will tell me if I'm going to renew and if it's worth the money as currently I don't think it is.

I was shown around recently. Staff seem friendly and the facilities seem good. However, Jacuzzi does seem quite small and pool area seems a bit congested with lots of people on phones! Incidently, when i was shown around the pool, i was told not to worry about wearing my outdoor shoes! Really? I could have walked in dog poo 5 mins earlier for all the staff knew, so i'm not impressed that over shoes were not provided. The athosphere in the gym and changing rooms seemed tense. It felt a bit strange because no one talking and it came across as unfriendly. I was offered a free session so as to make a more informed choice before signing a contract. Sadly despite me chasing this by phone this weekend, being put on hold and then cut off, i was unable to have this confirmed.

Been a member for years, wont be renewing. Gym itself isn’t bad and staff at reception have been friendly, hence the one star. The issue is the riff raff in attendance: - woman filming pool despite no phone policy; kids in pool (safeguarding issue); lifeguard in his own world - groups of loud obnoxious men sparring like they’re in Rocky - people watching things on their phones without headphones whilst training - women in changing rooms having full blown conversations on FaceTime and speakerphone - youths hanging around the entrance underground with dangerous dogs If you attend early during the week, it’s not so bad, but evenings and weekends are a nightmare. The fact that they have barrier free entry says it all. Plus the never ending open days/weeks. Save your money, you can get the same experience at a budget gym.

A friendly, accessible and clean gym with plenty of equipment, a nice pool and spa area and a good range of classes with good, motivated instructors. The changing area is big with lots of showers and space to get changed. I usually go early in the morning before work or on weekends and it’s a nice amount of busy. Not too packed but also not dead.

Amazing gym with lovely staff. I was recently helped out by a lovely young lady, Brianna I think her name was. She helped me out massively with my membership. Can’t recommend this gym enough.

I am a more than 2 years member of the club and being intimidated and threatened to be banned from the club from member of the cleaning staff in the dressing room for being late to exit the club by 2 minutes (10:02PM) that’s great customer relations to a loyal customer and what is supposed to be a premium club, wearing the prestige brand name “Virgin” I tried using the app to send feedback, the app is giving me an error everyone I’m trying too send it. This club should be called “ Salford’s Bully Gym Locale” - Avoid, I’ll even now consider joining another club where they respect their loyal clients …

Wrote 3 emails to different staff members describing the uncomfortable experiences I had in this gym. 2 emails were ignored and didn't receive a response. I did receive a phone call telling me there was nothing they could do about it and I had to stay in my 12 month commitment despite not attending the gym at all due to the harassment I experienced. Really sad to have been ignored twice and not allowed to leave my contract only 1-2 months early. Disappointed to have received no support, understanding or care from Virgin at all, it really doesn't seem like they care about their member's safety so I wouldn't recommend this gym for young women unfortunately.

Love coming here & Love that it feels like a safe non judgemental environment, and the pool (although the same men constantly take over sauna and jacuzzi for what feels like hours which isn’t very fair!) I would love if there was was more gym equipment as I have to wait a lot even when it’s not busy on the app Would also love if the gym was open later on weekends :)
