Purchased a shirt using part club card vouchers & part payment but had to return it the next day due the size being wrong. The experience of bringing it back left A LOT to be desired. It started by having a member of staff on customer services till who had an I’m new badge, which I understand everyone has to learn but I explained at the start of the transaction that I had purchased using 2 methods (debit card & clubcard vouchers) which she didn’t seem to take any notice of, her attitude was not customer friendly & gave the impression she couldn’t be bothered. After processing the refund I asked about the club card vouchers I was told that’s it I wouldn’t get them back, when I pointed out I should have been told that at the start as I would have exchanged items to the value of the shirt she just looked at me blankly & said she would call a manager. Then another member of staff came over (no idea if they were actually a manager) but their attitude left a lot to be desired & if they were a manager I can’t comprehend how they actually got that role, they made me feel as though I was an inconvenience & snapped at me that the points would appear back on my clubcard in 3-4 days. I’m assuming it was working days as it has been 12 days (5 of those days has been working days due to the festive period & still unable to see the points on my app) Working with the public myself I understand that it can be a difficult job at times but I can honestly say that if that is the standard of staff Tesco’s looks to hire then they need to invest in more staff training on how to interact with the public as my experience with those 2 members of staff left me feeling unhappy, like an inconvenience and genuinely upset & angry at the way they treated me.

They keep making it worse and worse. They closed the fresh fish section a couple of years ago. Recently, fresh bread is being left on the shelves unsliced and in open air, without any packaging, so it just dries out. Nobody wants to buy that. I used to visit for the fresh bread, but it’s been very disappointing recently. I also recently went to see the new iPhone. There is a young kid in charge of the entire mobile section, sitting there playing on his phone and ignoring customers, and he got visibly annoyed when I interrupted his scrolling to ask to see the phone outside of the security lock. He did the classic thing of going into the room for a minute and then saying, “Sorry, I can’t find the keys.” Totally ridiculous experience when you’re trying to buy a product that costs a grand.

The baby change door was obstructed with a cage full of stock. I had my baby in a carrier and had to push it out of the way as no one around to help. The baby change room was full of stock, and cages full. Not baby friendly at all.

I must say staff at my local Tesco Purley are very helpful and polite, in particular Sam stands out. He has always been so helpful with giving out baskets, directing us to the right aisles keeping a smile on his face. Sam must become the employee of the month. A huge praise for him from our family. Thank you so much to all the team at Tesco Purley working hard to serve our community.

Would love to know why I was sold something, that was on the shelf that was a year out of date? Then when I tried to return it to another Tesco store closer, they refused and said it needed to go back to the store it came from. Disgusting. Stockers need to check the goods before putting things on the shelf. Regardless what you pick up from this Tesco, always check the date because the staff clearly don't.

Relatively trouble free shop - first of the year. Could have done with two more tills being in service as it was fairly busy (at least four were shut). Parking bays are too narrow!

It’s okay. I’ve seen better but I’ve also seen worse. It’s a huge store. huge car park, Car wash, Pharmacy, F&F and Timpsons etc It can get pretty busy and the till queues are a nightmare but overall it’s a good store with lots of products, lots of variety etc It was a nightmare trying to find it at first, that roundabout and its lanes are well confusing when you aren’t familiar. Last but not least, the speed bumps on the way in are the worst speed bumps ever known to man.

4 Tills open and the rest all closed. No doubt the usual corporate clichés about many people like using self service. Well here's some news for you Tesco's. Many people do not like, or want to use self service tills. How about looking after those customers, instead of trying to force people into using the service tills.

Terrible queues too many self scan checkout queues too close together. Only reason I gave 1 star is cos Harry & the other guys on meat counter actually can be bothered to help..Thanks guys☺️GIVE THEM A PAY RISE- THEY DESERVE IT !

Well stocked, i try to shop in the morning to avoid the rush later on as the queues to pay can be frustrating. Lately have been always playing nice music in the store :)
