   Large spaces with great deals after Christmas and a very nice café on the 2nd floor. Large cappuccino £3.90. It's next to the Arndale shopping centre.

   I am deeply disappointed by the way I was treated during my visit to the Marks & Spencer Market Street Manchester store today. I purchased two Clinique items from the beauty department, one of which was intended as a gift for my mother. During checkout, a staff member named Jo removed the security tag and ripped the product box, making it unsuitable as a gift. When I politely raised this, I was dismissed and made to feel like I was being difficult for even mentioning it. Shortly afterwards, the M&S paper bag split, causing one of the products to fall out. Wanting to avoid any fuss, I quietly fixed it myself and asked for a new bag. When I noticed the same products were available as a gift set for the same price, I returned to the till to ask for an exchange. At this point, Jo raised her voice and accused me of damaging the product, loudly stating that I had “broken the lid.” In front of a long queue of customers — and while I was there with my 3-year-old child — she opened the bottle herself, shook it so liquid came out, and then claimed it was leaking. I was publicly embarrassed, shocked, and upset. I felt bullied and unfairly accused, all over a simple exchange request. Thankfully, another member of staff stepped in, handled the exchange calmly, and apologised to me, which I appreciated — but the damage had already been done. I have shopped at M&S my entire life and never expected to be treated in such a humiliating way. This experience has really shaken my confidence in this store, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously to ensure no other customer is treated like this.

   Massive. This M&S was absolutely massive honestly. It had a really, really large collection of clothes, shoes, schoolwear, etc. It was easy to get lost! But yeah.. good shop.

   Unfortunately, I had one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve ever had at this branch. I bought a jacket, and when I tried it on again at home, I realized the collar design wasn’t comfortable for me. When I went back to return it, the staff—without proper or fair inspection—immediately accused me of having made the jacket dirty. This reaction was genuinely surprising and upsetting. When I asked to see another jacket of the same model, it turned out that the replacement item also had stains and what looked like glue marks on several parts of it. In other words, the issue they blamed me for was actually present on the store’s own product. They eventually accepted the return, but without offering any apology or acknowledgment of their mistake. This unprofessional behavior and lack of respect toward customers is extremely disappointing, especially from a brand like M&S.

   Love the food hall here always have. The coffee is delicious. Just note that the lid unfortunate sucks up more of the produce than you will. It absorbs it. Which was a shock, so maybe take a cup without the lid FYI. Other than that love it

   Nice cafe when organised and items you order are in stock. Should not have to wait 20 mins to be delivered something different to the table. Allergies not taken into account just assumptions made. Then be left with nothing because it’s after 5.30pm. Staff need better training on the basics. The store itself is well above average :) One of the best in terms of floor space. Needs more size 6 in clothing. Toilets are filthy which is the big let down. A consistent problem with M&S.

   Visiting m&s Manchester for the 1st time in 4 years (as I moved to Spain) I was shocked at how standards have plummeted, staff are so unhelpful and cannot be bothered with customers queries. "Eventually" I found the items I required then joined the queue for the till. One person on a till and a queue through the store. I was asked to use self serve and politely refused explaining "I,m sorry I don't work here" the m&s cafe experience was a nightmare with staff actually rowing behind the counter, so much so I received a teapot with no t bag. When I see the next news report of m&s sales being down this Christmas I will totally understand why.

   There is no consultation, the service is terrible, with such a service you can only close Where do you see consultants in the photo?? Should I run around a huge floor and look for the goods that I need?
