Not a great place to learn jiu jitsu. There's no structure in place to help you progress to the next level. People are progressed based on their attendance to classes rather than their skill set. The classes are far too big for you to pick things up and ask the instructor for guidance. The instructor who teaches the white belts is called 'Kam'. He doesn't seem interested in teaching and seems to be more interested playing on his phone. The gi they make you buy is ridiculously expensive and they don't accept you coming to the class with another gi. Membership was also £70 a month which is quite steep. The venue itself is within the clean air zone so be careful if your car isn't ULEZ compliant.

Trained as a drop in whilst visiting Birmingham. Really great venue. Lovely people, staff instructors and students were very friendly and welcoming. Technical proficiency was outstanding and the rolling was challenging but ego free. Will be back next visit.

I heard of the great reputation of Gracie Barra gyms from a popular podcast. So, after searching for a place to start training, I find this place. After my first day training here, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The atmosphere is so welcoming and the instructors and other people make you feel comfortable, even if you're new. I'm going to take a regular membership and can't wait to go again!

I've been training at GB Birmingham since September 2020. They provide a spacious and safe place to train. The atmosphere is so welcoming. From the perspective of a beginner in BJJ, the instructors have a real mindful way of teaching, that is digestible as a newcomer, but also allows for room to express your own style. Training here has also been a great way to keep fit, and I've really felt a drastic improvement in mobility, physical conditioning and of course the self confidence you get from learning self defence. A real family vibe, and I can honestly say that I'm so glad to have joined GB Birmingham! Highly recommend that you come in and give it a try!

I've been training here for over a year now and I wish I have discovered it earlier as it is an amazing journey, one that I hope I can continue for many years to come. GB Birmingham is a great place to train at with some of the best instructors there are. Lots of friendly people from all walks of life who make you feel welcome from day one. It really is a great mix of all ages and experience levels, so everyone can find what they are looking for in jiu-jitsu be it competing or recreational training.

I have been training at GB Birmingham for over 1.5 years and the experience has been great. The staff and the instructors are very supportive and knowledgeable. I’ve made great friends, built a practical skill set and massively developed as a person. Highly recommend!
