   Great store and nice staff except the confrontational security looking for an argument. We do our full shop here weekly and spend thousands here every year. We had an issue where we had put our money in the self scan and it chewed up one note and the other hadn’t registered. The lad on the self scan went to check with security and they said they couldn’t see what notes we had put in and therefore we would have to lose the money and if we wasn’t happy the security guard would speak to us. I asked to speak to a manager who also checked the cctv. After returning he gave us the benefit of the doubt and we left our number for them to call if the machine was in fact down. While chatting this over with the duty manager (who was really nice) he was constantly hackled from the side of the self scan by the security looking to provoke a reaction from us. We didnt even look at or acknowledge him as he was clearly looking for a reaction or argument. I have no idea why he was getting involved with a manager chatting with us or having any input in something that didn’t concern him.

   I love this store everyone is so friendly and helpful but a special shout out to Kate on the checkout today 3/9/25 who, when I asked for a small plastic bag to put ‘smelly’ onions in, explained that, wanting to be more eco friendly, they didn’t supply small plastic bags anymore, which I agreed was fair enough, however, Kate then went to the trouble of asking a colleague to get a paper bag from the bakery for me which I really appreciated.

   I shop here regularly with no problem , however today my shopping experience was spoiled by the fact that the store was freezing due to unnecessary air conditioning being on. Staff on tills were wearing layers on as it was so cold..

   No complaints about the store but the security, Literally stealing a living, He spends all his time leaning down nowhere near the camera screens chatting and then when he does move he goes outside for a vape

   Background music isn't in the background, it is rather loud, I asked a member of staff if it could be turned down and she said she will try but might be unable as it's controlled elsewhere. I've been in since but will shop elsewhere as its still too loud.

   Almost every time I go here for a lottery ticket the staff are chatting while there's a queue forming, this let's down the store. If you like listening to people talking about what they're having for lunch then this is the place for you.

   Some of the staff in this store really let it down. I once waited to be served for 20 minutes while the lady on the checkout was talking to the customer who she had just served. One girl was asking other staff about an app that she wanted to down load whilst I was waiting for her to scan my shopping. One lady was talking to the customer who was stood behind me whilst serving me. And as other shoppers have mentioned, I have also never seen one member of staff wearing a face covering,, even though shoppers are asked to wear them by staff when they enter the store. I also work in a food store so I know what it is like but i would never behave in this way towards customers. And I always wear a face covering in work so I know how hard it is to constantly have one on for 9 hours but that's what we have to do to protect ourselves and others.
