   I attend classes in Leeds with ActUpNorth, which I love. Each week is just brilliant, I learn so much and apply it to my craft. I recently attended a workshop with Charlotte Bellamy, absolutely brilliant. She was so lovely and so wonderful to work with. I took so much from the session. The week before I attended an online workshop with Duncan Foster, really enjoyed it, learning about his process, both workshops were interactive, giving so much to the actors. Thank you to ActUpNorth for organising these wonderful workshops, giving members the opportunity to work with industry professionals. A safe space is created for members in the classes and workshops, allowing for play, making mistakes and feeling a sense of being free from any constraints when working on scenes. Thank you

   I’ve been attending to acting classes since September and my experience has been excellent! Each class gives you clear takeaways you can use right away, you leave feeling confident, energised, and proud of your progress. The sessions are fun and you feel supported while being pushed to grow, the teaching builds real skills you notice week after week. Dean and Lee are absolute gems! I just had my first professional practice weekend with the wonderful Charlotte Bellamy. She challenged us in ways that helped us break patterns and try new choices, go off script, change relationships, add new twists and just let the scene be. Getting out of your comfort zone has never been this exciting! Thank you for creating such a motivating space to learn and improve. Joining ActUpNorth has been one of my best decisions!

   Act Up North quickly becomes like an extended family! A super supportive staff, all very human and down to earth with superb sets of skills to share from experience working professionally. I’ve benefited massively from my time here, coming from a theatre background I’ve grasped a whole lot about acting for screen which has led to booking tv work. My weekly class is something I look forward to no matter how busy or tired I am. It’s that kind of creative and inspiring atmosphere, being surrounded by talent and ideas and being challenged that excites me. Classes have continued online during lockdown, this has been an absolute godsend, I highly recommend Act Up North for any aspiring actors.

   If you want friendly, professional, top class tuition then this is the place for you. A real preparation for entry into the industry, focusing on screen acting. This is not your usual money-making set-up. Classes are taken by qualified tutors who themselves are working actors. There are guest tutors and mock castings included in the weekly price. From the comments I have received at auditions, I know casting directors rate them highly. I certainly cannot rate them highly enough. A definite 10 out of 10!
