Okay, it's the children's garden. But as an adult I absolutely loved wandering around here. I mean, we're all big kids at heart, right !?! Split into different areas, there is loads to see, smell, touch. Also a play area. Right next to the found hall and toilets too..

A fun, interactive space to climb, run, jump and explore everything that a plant needs to grow. Based in a natural setting the size of 40 tennis courts, children can explore all the things plants need to grow in our Children's Garden, designed for children from 2 to 12 years old. Over 100 mature trees are spread over this beautiful landscape, with hidden treasures and adventures around every corner, leading to a 4m high canopy walk wrapped around a 200-year-old oak in the heart of the Children's Garden. No pre-booking required – all visitors are welcome to come and go throughout the day until one hour before the Gardens close.

Kew’s Children’s Garden could be an absolute gem — if only it were properly maintained. Unfortunately, there’s always something broken. Whether it’s parts of the climbing structures, interactive features, or safety elements, it feels like upkeep is just not a priority. And the water play area? Let’s be honest — it’s been completely out of service for two full years. That’s the entire duration of my membership. No explanation, no visible effort to repair it, just a sad, dry zone that still gets promoted as a highlight. That’s misleading at best. For a place associated with the prestige of Kew Gardens, this kind of neglect is honestly baffling. Families pay for quality — not for constant disappointment. Step it up. The kids (and the paying adults) deserve better.

Free but you need to book a slot in advance. Not really the most exciting playground for kids. Very crowded and kids didn’t enjoy it. We left after 20 minutes. I was expecting a lot more but as it’s free it’s ok. I wouldn’t have been happy if I’d had to pay to enter there. Nice swings and seating areas. Enjoyable but not nothing memorable.

Good and large children playground for all ages. Remember to book the free time slot in advance.

The kids area at Kew Gardens is great, but you should book inadvace to avoid disappointment during covid times. There are lots of things to do. They have a water selection where the kids pump water and have to create a path for it to reach it's destination. There is a picnic area, trampolines, a large sandpit with slides and wooden huts. Just outside is a restaurant where you can buy food and drinks, this includes hot as well as cold snacks. The closest entrance to the kids area is the Elizabeth Gate next to Kew Bridge.

It's great. Plenty of activities for different ages plus some educational aspect.

Fantastic new play space for children. Timed entry means its not too crowded even at peak times. Beautifully crafted themed play activities in scenic surroundings. A great way for children to spend 90 minutes.
