First time getting a tattoo done and the tattooist and other members of the team were so welcoming and put me at ease to get my tattoo done. They made sure I was comfortable and gave me advice on aftercare. Cannot wait to go back and get another tattoo done!
Came over from Canada for my second tattoo and can't say enough about old empire and the lovely Emma. Her attention to detail is spot on and she does amazing work, the portrait of my staffie turned out amazing. the shop is spotless and Joel and all his employees are fantastic people! This is my second tattoo done by Emma and i would recommend her work to anyone looking at getting one done! Thank you again!!
Visiting from london this was my first ever tattoo and it definitely is the best place to go! So welcoming, chatty , funny and friendly. As a young woman it can feel scary going into a tattoo shop but they made me feel really welcome and comfortable throughout the whole time i was there. Definitely recommended to anyone feeling nervous about their first time!
Joel was amazing! Seriously, he was so patient with me and made the whole process feel really easy and comfortable. I was a bit nervous going in, but he walked me through everything step by step and made sure I felt good the entire time. He was super kind, really gentle, and just overall great to be around. You can tell he genuinely cares and takes pride in his work. I’m so happy with how my tattoo turned out—it’s exactly what I wanted. If you're thinking about getting a tattoo, go see Joel. I have been to Old Empire Tattoo for both tattoos and piercings. I've had tattoos off both Joel and Emma and absolutely love them. I've also booked in again for a cover up! Can't wait!! Also had piercings off Emma and Ash. Amazing group of staff under one roof!! The only place I'll recommend.
You've tried the rest now try the best. The greatest tattoo studio you'll ever find. I searched many years to find this place after having tattoo's at various locations and would not go anywhere else. A real hidden gem. Joel in particular is a proper artist at work. From designing, to tattooing to aftercare Joel is the best tattooist in the UK.

Having a tattoo is a life long commitment, it has to be right, it has to be perfect, they are expensive, time consuming, meaningful and when done right beautiful. So finding the right people with the right skill set can be difficult. Being told about old empire from a friend who showed me their tattoos defo put my mind at ease. I’ve had 2 tattoos here. My first was a drawing that my son had done for me. Emma was amazing and I couldn’t of been happier with the end result she caught every last little detail. I’ve then since had another tattoo done by Joel which is just beautiful the line work is something else. The whole vibe of the shop is amazing, all the staff are so friendly and chatty, they try so hard to fit you in asap and work around times and dates that are suitable for you I know this will be my go tattoo shop from now on.
