DO NOT USE! AKA now as My Law Matters (MLM) since Mr Fentiman retired and sold up. This firm is now totally unprofessional, arrogant, rude and ineffective. They cannot be trusted to carry out even basic legal work so AVOID at all costs. Our complaints were ignored but after taking this law firm to the Legal Ombudsman, who agreed with every one of our nine complaints submitted that service levels had been unreasonable, I feel totally justified in leaving this scathing review. Would give them 0 if rating allowed!

Fentiman’s in knowle Used to be an amazing law company. Now: We have tried for nearly 2 years to get our deeds Impossible. We’ve even asked another solicitor to try! Once again impossible. It’s shameful. and extremely stressful especially when they tell you they have been disposed of deeds they were supposed to look after ( depending who you speak to) even though they contain share certificates. . Especially stressful for my aged mother. Extremely worrying when we have POE and Wills with them. I’ve never come across such shambolic mess. They ignore every email and every phone call.

Avoid this outfit. They are incredibly slow to do anything and do not resond when chased up to be asked what is happening. They took over 2 weeks to give the file to someone on a basic conveyance and then after that if we could get through to somebody it is a different person each time. They are not interested in the client's requirements and not bothered if their delays cause the transaction to fall through which in this case it may well. Please read the other more recent reviews here and on on trust pilot. I would not even give them 1 star if that were possible.

⭐ 1/5 - Extremely Poor Service & Communication I had a highly disappointing experience with My Law Matters during my property purchase. Despite being promised clear timelines, my transaction was significantly delayed, with little to no proactive updates. I had to chase them repeatedly for responses, often receiving vague, unhelpful replies. Even after all enquiries were resolved, they failed to progress my purchase for weeks, causing unnecessary stress and frustration. Basic tasks like handling fixtures and fittings requests were mismanaged, and their overall lack of urgency made the process much more difficult than it needed to be. Their customer service was poor, and they did not take accountability when I raised a formal complaint. I would not recommend My Law Matters if you value efficiency, communication, and professionalism. Avoid if you want a smooth conveyancing process!

I beg anyone not to use this company. Unless you want illness , stress and tears. Nearly 8 months to complete on a new build property no chain etc. Fentimans held us up every step of the way. Resulting us having to pull out due to them not sticking to dates . They are now trying to charge us a bill even though we already paid £600 to them which we’ve lost. The director is rude and not helpful in the slightest. Do not use ! Please

Avoid at all costs. Unless you want to be ripped off and charged for emails back and forth to not yourself, but someone who has decided to step down from their executor duties and be threatened that if you don’t come up with the thousands of pounds on top of what’s already been paid for their “services” then paperwork will be held. My Grandad had been using this firm for many years but having been diagnosed with dimentia I just don’t think he realised what he was setting himself up for. He always dealt with the same person and that person was not Nick Fentiman whom I’m surprised to learn is the company director. I had tried on several occasions to get through to Nick and was told he would call back. Most likely not interested in dealing with men, rather vulnerable women he can take advantage of. Not once did he return any of my calls and had taken great pleasure by informing the family member left to deal with things the inheritance tax amount to pay and thousands of pounds lost through stocks and shares. Of course this is a way to conduct yourself in your position when clearly it’s obvious someone is already going through a great deal amount of stress not to mention grieving over their lost loved one. He was very much working for the other person and not the person paying eventually who would be left to deal with it all. Had my Grandad have known this to begin with being a very intelligent man he wouldn’t have invested his time or money into this firm especially knowing the person who had initially dealt with him for years, would be none other than Nick F instead as he invested his money wisely. Unprofessional to say the least and disgusting poor service at thousands of pounds. Don’t be fooled by the 5* positive reviews, as a family we received nothing but negative and bad experience by a company we thought we could trust to handle my Grandfather’s case. This has changed my whole perception on solicitors and it’s unfortunate because I’m sure there are many good, honest and reliable firms out there but for the minority mentioned it’s certainly made me think twice in future to do my research and go with a reputable firm that provide fixed costs and not charge you stupid amounts per item i.e. £50 per email which has no benefit to you whatsoever. I must add situations also happened that shouldn’t have before probate was granted. You were informed of this. Isn’t this against the law, did you listen and take action?! I think not. Unfinished case with failure to release important documents and no sympathy or remorse for the family members involved. Unnecessary hefty costs, complete lack of regard and very clearly money grabbers rather than client driven. Educate your children as they could make the mistake of using these fraudsters in future. ***edit*** Since posting this review 6 months ago unsurprisingly it has since been taken down?! Why would this be?? Perhaps it’s down to exposing just what con artists you really are. Shocking!

I used Fentimans in Knowle for an employment law matter and I was very happy with their service. Considered, pragmatic, responsive when I needed them to be and caring for their client. I would definitely recommend and use again if needed.

We exchanged two preliminary inquiry emails and had one 35 minute consultation meeting. After the meeting I read the law, talked to a surveyor and came to the conclusion that Mr Fentiman wouldn't be able to help me due to the current legislation. The fact that Mr Fentiman wasn't aware of the legislation but still invited me to drive an hour to his office for a meeting was a little disappointing. However, my main complaint is that Mr Fentiman is now seeking to charge me not only for the meeting but for 3 of the 4 emails he has sent me - one response to my preliminary email inquiry and two unsolicited follow-up emails after our meeting. Yes, that's right, Mr Fentiman charges for email responses to preliminary email enquiries and if you do not decide to appoint him as your solicitor he will charge you for emails he sends to follow up.

Fentimans were fantastic during the conveyancing of my recent property purchase. Really responsive, friendly and, most importantly, worked with pace. If all solicitors were like this then property purchasing would be a lot less stressful! Thank you Fentimans, will be using you again!

I would like to thank Fentimans for acting as solicitors in the purchase of my first house. They made what was a new and, at times, a stressful experience run smoothly and were always quick to respond to any questions or queries I had. The professional, friendly and efficient service was second to none and I would definitely recommend them to others.
