    Our son was so desperate to start drama classes a couple of years ago but it was a new world to us and we had no idea where to start. A friend recommended Carney and it has been fabulous! Every term focuses on different themes and skills to help develop the young people. The team are fun, friendly and approachable and the annual performances are so good. My son had no experience and has come on so much.

    I joined Carney Academy in May 23 and my daughter has been attending the teen class sin Jan 24. Words can't describe how good the classes are... but, as this is a written medium, I'll give it a go! The courses are well structured, with topical termly objectives. I've learnt and gained experience in screen acting, monologues, stage acting and voice over work. The course leaders are super helpful, friendly, welcoming and are all experienced performers in their own rights. A lot of the course material is underpinned by Stanislavski principles, providing real and proven backbone to the material. The classes typically have a range of student experience... and I've found the students to be positive and welcoming too! I've learnt a lot so far... and can't wait to learn more!!! That was more words than I'd expected!!

    Our daughter, aged 6, joined Carney Sheffield in 2018 because as advertised she loves to sing, act and dance. The environment is professional and nurturing with dedicated teachers who instantly made, and continue to make, my daughter feel part of the team. We were blown away with last year’s summer school performance of Annie, seeing all ages work together and encourage each other in a theatre environment further added to our confidence in Carney. This year we’ve been able to not only see first hand the skills our daughter has developed in the yearly festival, but witness the importance of friendships that Carney encourage and individuality of each person attending.     I started at Carney just 6 months ago. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s been amazing . I have learnt so much in a short space of time . I was very nervous at my first session. I was immediately put at my ease and the teaching is really such high quality . Everyone is developed and really nurtured in such a positive atmosphere. I gained more confidence and even started to get cast in film and stage roles . I’ve now just been accepted at Rose Bruford in London to study for an acting diploma . What’s even more amazing is I’m 60 years of age . I certainly wouldn’t be in this position without Carney Academy . I can’t thank them enough
