“I have been wanting to join a dance class for a while now as I have always loved and been interested in Dancing and wanted to do something for me being a Mummy. My sister in law told me about Velvet Burlesque and how much she enjoyed it but i still put it off for a good while as i wasn't confident enough to sign myself up for it, basically making excuses but I finally did and was so nervous when the day came but Lara instantly made me feel so welcome and relaxed as soon as i walked through the door, she kept checking up on me throughout to ensure I was ok. Lara is a really friendly and lovely person and her teaching and encouragement is the best...trust the process! I am so glad I made the decision to join, the atmosphere is fab and it's boosted my confidence, I love it and look forward to going every week.”
“Excellent! My daughter has been dancing at Dance Unlimited since she was 3. She enjoys it so much her little sister also wanted to go and has also been there since she was 3. The children really enjoy learning to dance in a fun friendly atmosphere that is relaxed and in no way competitive. Miss Becky and her team are really friendly and helpful. They really connect with the kids and can bring the most timid of children out of their shells. Lots of opportunities for the children to shine during shows, and parent watching weeks every term. We tried a few dance schools before we made a decision and Dance Unlimited was by far the best!”
“Great dance classes and teachers. Definitely recommend if your looking for a dance class for your children”
“My daughter has been dancing in the Tutus and Taps class at Studio J for a couple of years now and she absolutely loves it! From her very first lesson Miss Jo made her feel so comfortable and she can't wait to go to dancing every week. We've just signed up to the acro class and she can't wait to start. I would highly recommend Studio J to anyone looking for dance classes.”
“I was very nervous when I started the dance classes but from day one everyone has made me feel so welcome. I have two left feet (and still do have) but that doesn't matter. I always go home looking forward to the next class. If you are having any doubts just try it you might surprise yourself.”
“My daughter loves going to her dance class every week, she has so much fun and enjoys every minute of it! Natasha is a great teacher who clearly has a lot of time for her students and has made my little girl very welcome. Since starting her dance classes she has already taken part in her first show which was beautifully put together and a lot of time, effort and fun was put in to it by all. Would highly recommend the studio dance and theatre academy!!”
“I've been going to this studio for about 2 years now and having tried a lot (maybe 8?) I can easily say that OTG has been my favourite! And I liked the other studios! Every teacher has a unique skill set so you get a lot from trying out different classes e.g., Sarah is great at pinpointing what muscle you should be engaging and making your pole move portfolio well rounded, Gem is a detective when it comes to problem-solving a move you've been stuck on, Gemma offers a wealth of experience in choreo classes to improve your flow (I could go on...). They actively go out their way to make the studio inclusive and welcoming to all and are sx work positive. If you want pole to be more social then they hold 'open pole' nights, but if you prefer to keep yourself to yourself that's also respected. I also have to shout-out that as a 'nesh' person, they do the most to keep the studio warm in winter and they employ 'Daddy Cool' (the mega fan) to keep it cool in summer. Would recommend to anyone wanting to start or continue their pole dance journey!”
“Starting at Mission has been the best thing I have ever done! I have always struggled with my confidence and body image, but since starting pole (and now hoop as well), my confidence has grown unmeasurable amounts. Not only are the instructors amazing, but all the other students too, everyone makes you feel so welcome (as an anxious person when I first started, this made me feel so much more at ease), and every single person is there cheering you on and supporting you. I have met so many incredible people and made friends that I don’t know how I've ever lived without! I can’t describe how much love I have for Mission and it’s amazing community! It’s become my safe place, home away from home and a place that I feel I can be my full unapologetic self! It’s so true that you just become part of one big family ”
“My daughter now 8, has been loving having lessons at the Heights Ballet and Theatre School since she was in nursery age 4. The location of the Heights and the fact that they pick up from Hallam Primary school drew us to the school and has been a massive bonus for enabling her to dance twice weekly. The supportive and enthusiastic teachers at Heights have all contributed to her growing in confidence and obviously her wonderful dancing skills. I'm so proud of how she performs in front audiences with such passion and positiveness; she loves the shows and the fancy costumes she gets to wear! She's in a happy place when she's presenting what she's been working on in her classes in the kitchen at home to us all! At school she'll actively look to take on speaking parts and do demonstrations in front of the class or at child/parent events and I feel that her time at the Heights has certainly contributed to this assertiveness. The Heights teachers and fellow dancers of all ages are such positive role models and all encourage each other. It's a lovely environment for my daughter to be developing her passion for dance and performance. Thank you Heights family!”
“My daughter has been dancing at AJ’s for 3 years and made unbelievable progress. Guided by AJ’s expert teachers, her confidence has grown massively and she has blossomed from a shy performer with zero experience to performing on stage in five different styles of dance in their fantastic annual shows, as well as successfully auditioning for the past 2 Newark annual pantomimes. I highly recommend AJ’s for budding dancers/performers. It is a friendly, inclusive school with a great bunch of teachers and kids.”
“I have used hype dance in a number of ways; classes, tuition and studio hire and it is great. The teachers are friendly and welcoming in classes and the choreography is always engaging. I have recently attended the choreo classes with Paulina. She has incredible musicality and she teaches choreo in a way that lets a mixture of abilities explore their own, to a really great selection of music. The classes are drop in style, but in all the ones I have attended I see the same faces again and again, which speaks for itself in terms of the community atmosphere!”
“My son absolutely loves Carney and always comes home with enthusiasm after each session. It’s great to find a group that focuses on acting techniques - he has gained so much confidence.”
“My daughter has danced with Adam for 10 years, from the age of 7, she had attended a couple of other schools beforehand and was never as happy as she is with Adam. Adam is an amazing teacher, who strives to get the best dancing out if each child. He understands each individual child’s needs and works with them to be the best dancer they can be. After ‘show week’ every year I always say the same thing to Adam, that I honestly didn’t know my daughter could dance like she does, each year is always an improvement on the last. I have and will continue to personally recommended the Adam Hague School of dance to anyone who asks for a dance school.”
“I'd tried several dance classes but because there were a lot of participants I didn't feel I was getting much out of the classes. However with my first adult jazz class at DDTA I felt at home, with the small size of class, expert supportive tuition and wonderful choreography by Miss Sally.”
“I started going to Regency 18months ago to start learning to dance in the Adult level 1 lessons. The ballroom is beautiful but what really makes this place is the people. I was welcomed with open arms and can honestly say that you are truly made to feel part of the family. I wouldn't be without my dance classes and dance family now.”
“Janine's dance classes are excellent. She is a great dance teacher, she gets you working hard but at the same time it's such a fun experience.”
“It's a good, easy dance venue. Very friendly with a mix of ballroom, Latin and sequence dancing. Darren, who runs the school puts his heart and soul into it.”
“Both my children attend Razz and they absolutely love it. Between them both they attend 4 different areas and the team have always done what they can to make it work for us as a family, that's the amazing thing about the Razz team they care so much about each student and it's shown. Razz was also a huge part of our time during lockdown they kept things as normal as they could but also did fun things to help keep spirits high not only for students but for their family members during a hard time. Most importantly to me and what makes them really stand out is they've played a huge part in building the confidence and self belief in both my children, the difference Razz has made to my son actually makes me quite emotional, he's a totally different person, thanks to Razz he now believes he can conquer almost anything and everything and the support and encouragement he gets from Helen and her team is outstanding, I'll never have enough words to thank them for this. A couple of years ago after shortly starting Razz even his school commented on the difference in him and his confidence. Not only are they learning different skills at Razz but each week they have fun and enjoy it. They come home from each session beaming, every week they look forward to going and are gutted if they can't attend summer school or some Razz planned event. If you want an extra curricular activity for your children you can't ask better than Razzamataz really I am so glad it found it's way into our household.”
“My daughter loves her ballet, tap and Acro dance sessions. The Winter Wonderland shows she has performed in have been creative and professional.”
“A lovely family run dance and theatre school, very relaxing and accommodating environment where the children can express themselves freely with no pressure. Miss Olivia and the staff go above and beyond organising shows and fundraisers and visiting other local events in the area. My daughter absolutely loves going and has been for several years. It's a wonderful little gem to have in our local community.”
“The best dance school in Barnsley!Great teachers and such a lovely community.Would 100% recommend to parents wanting to send their children to a dance school”
“My daughter has been attending Peak Performance since she was 4. She's now 9 and her confidence and dancing ability/skills have grown so much under the thoughtful and kind tuition of Jilly and the other teachers at the school. She's also made great friends and had so much fun! There is a great blend of shows/performances (with very exciting costumes!) and examinations. No pressure for either - both done in a way that motivates and encourages. Each Saturday morning there are the following classes: ballet, tap, modern, musical theatre and gymnastic dance - something for everyone. I can't recommend this school and its lovely staff enough!”
“Fabulous!! Booked for two hen do's and they could not have been more flexible, helpful and supportive. The classes were fab and I could not recommend them more highly! Thank you!”
“My daughter has danced here for the past 4 years and loves it. It has built her confidence and strength. I also attend the adult ballet barre which is a great, fun class”
“My daughter has been going since she was 3 and has been continually nurtured and inspired. I cannot recommend them highly enough, they are amazing xxx”
“Both myself and my daughter dance at Wallace Dance Academy. The school has gone from strength to strength driven by their incredible teachers. It has a family ethos with each and every child being treated with care, understanding and empathy. The teachers are absolutely amazing and manage to get the best out of everyone. It caters for all ages and levels. I would thoroughly recommend the school to any parent who wants their child to experience dance to come and try it. Although their primary teaching is dance, it also helps children with their confidence, shows them how to work as a team and gain some life long friendships.”
“Kickers is like a second family. The teachers are fantastic at bringing the best out of all the children. It teaches not just dancing but teamwork, commitment and kindness.”
“Great dance school! Would highly recommend! My daughter still loves it after 7 years! All of the staff and teachers are fantastic!!!”
“My girl absolutely loves her dance school, she’s made has learnt so much and come on in such little time. “I'm in the an adult dance classes and I can say the academy is incredibly welcoming, the team and teachers are top notch and I couldn't recommend them enough to anyone either wanting to take their children to learn to dance or even learn themselves!!!”
