have never in my life been treated with such disrespect, dismissal and lack of care from a GP surgery. I genuinely felt that my life was being put in danger. On the morning of 21 November, I called Upton Rocks Surgery because both I and my young daughter were COVID-positive, I was extremely unwell, and I am immunosuppressed due to taking methotrexate. I was scared, alone, and genuinely needed medical guidance. After waiting on hold for around 17 minutes, I was spoken to by a receptionist whose attitude absolutely shocked me. She refused to give me any guidance at all, refused to tell me whether the surgery even had a COVID protocol, and just kept telling me to “go to the pharmacy” to have the vaccine- totally wrong as it is not allowed while I was actively unwell with COVID and immunosuppressed. I knew this advice was unsafe, and I honestly felt abandoned. When I politely asked for her name, she repeatedly refused and actually said to me: “I don’t have to give you my name.” I have never been spoken to like this by someone in healthcare in my life. Her tone was hostile, dismissive, and completely inappropriate. At a moment when I was frightened and ill, she made me feel even worse. She eventually claimed she would book a phone appointment, but nobody ever called me back. I was left completely alone, unwell, dizzy, afraid, and trying to care for an ill child with absolutely no support. I left that phone call shaking and in tears. I genuinely felt that my health — and my daughter’s health — were put at risk by the lack of care, the unsafe advice, and the refusal to help. No vulnerable patient should ever be treated like this. I would urge anyone who is vulnerable, immunosuppressed, or simply needs compassionate care to think very carefully before registering here. My experience left me feeling unsafe, dismissed, and completely unsupported when I needed help the most.

Really happy with the care I’ve received at this GP surgery. The staff are friendly, helpful, and professional. Appointments are usually easy to book, and the doctors take the time to listen. The manager is fantastic—really keeps things running smoothly and makes sure patients are well looked after. You can tell they care about doing a great job. Highly recommend this surgery!

Tried repeatedly over 14 days to make an appointment for a patient with special needs. Phone goes unanswered from the moment the surgery opens. Each time I finally did get through there were no appointments left and told to call back tomorrow. This went on day after day. I would try and explain the need for the appointment and was always told to "try tomorrow". On one occasion while talking the receptionist told me to stop calling they were too busy. I mistakenly ended the call while trying to go on speaker phone. Within a minute she called me back and berated me for hanging up! I explained I hadn't hung up and her response was "Do not EVER hang up on me again" and she ended the call. When we finally got an appointment the Dr actually brought up this "hang up" call and again berated us for wasting receptionist time by calling every day. We changed surgeries, never again will I use this place.

Attended for my flu jab which was great but left a query with nurse to enquire when should I be going onto libre sensor 2 from libre sensor 1 for my diabetic management. I have had no response and that's the reason only 4 stars.

Been with this surgery for many years and have always been pleased with the service. Have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful especially Elaine & Sue who I believe have both recently retired. Cathy & Jo the nurses are also very helpful. Although I don’t like the fact that you can’t pre book appointments and have to ring from 8am in the morning on most occasions you are able to get an appointment to speak with or see a doctor the same day. My only criticism is that we don’t have a permanent doctor and each time you need to see a GP you have to explain your medical history. When DR Knowles was appointed as the permanent GP earlier this year we were delighted , however he was only there a short time before moving abroad.

Attended on 21st Sept 2022 for a flu jab. The nurse was very helpful and reassuring. I asked a few questions and the nurse provided suitable answers. The service was excellent and she was a credit to the profession. The office staff were also pleasant and helpful.

An excellent service provided by June the Practice Nurse who is very professional in all aspects of my care and welfare. Treats me like a person and not just a number. Can always rely on her to be honest and truthful. Keep up the excellent work and look forward to my next review in February 2022. An excellent service provided by Cathy. Very professional and precise in performing her duties. Very pleasant and polite and makes you feel totally at ease. Keep up the excellent work.
