I’m consistently impressed with all the team at the Upton group practice. Unfortunately I’ve needed lots of their assistance this year and they have been brilliant and I couldn’t ask for more.

I have been a patient with Upton Practice for the past 7 years and have never really needed to see a Doctor. However, since reaching 70 I have had a few heart issues which means I was referred to see a Cardiologist. Although having to wait for 12 months the after care I have received especially from Nurse Julia who sat with me and explained everything including medication, test results and procedures. She talked to me like a friend and helped put my mind at rest. What an amazing asset she is to the practise.

I have also been a patient at this surgery for over 20 years and in that time I can honestly say that my family and i have always been treated with respect, understanding and a sincere compassion. When I first joined the practice after moving from another practice I was quickly diagnosed with an underactive thyroid which had been undiagnosed for 5 years at my previous practice. I was also diagnosed with other autoimmune diseases far sooner than anyone i know with the same problem. This has been a game changer for me. I would definitely recommend this practice and all the staff who work within it.

My grandmother went to this surgery and so does my mother, my sister an I have been with them since I was a small child I am now 31. I feel it’s an effort for the receptionist and the doctors to ever speak to me whatsoever. I try to stay away as much as possible if I ever actually do needs an appointment I never get one. Some of the receptionist said fairy very rude. Some of the doctors do not care whatsoever because I understandable person that people are busy and they have a lot of patients, I feel there is none for me what so ever being on the autistic spectrum and finding handling appointments quite difficult an when things go wrong I really struggle mentally. So having help is great, none of the receptionist in my opinion no nothing about me speak to me like “oh no not you again” the doctors. I will say dr partridge & especially DR Thomas was lovely to me And a female doctor with glasses she’s lovely too not quite sure on her name. The rest sort of made me feel very out of place and never understood me I felt like a burden entering or ringing got to a point where they weren’t answering the phone to me, so I rang off my friends phone and instantly answered I was really upset by this been told it has happened to a few people. Over worked maybe but this isn’t a doctor’s surgery at all I try not to go there and never ring as I get fobbed off. I just had Tonsillitis and couldn’t breath I was told to call back tomorrow no care for patients especially no training for anyone who maybe on the spectrum. I’m leaving this surgery and finding a new one. Young Ginger girl on the desk has a face like thunder most times I’ve spoken to her, Not welcoming, rude, attitudes on them like they are better than you and a jobs worth. My grandmother started to become not very fond of them either I’m very upset over it as my whole family has been going there for years no respect at all. Cant express the feeling I you feel having to call a Doctors that don’t want to speak to you when your unwell feels like you’re reaching out for help and the people who should be helping or caring don’t what so ever. Hope this helps most people.

I WILL be taking this to the CQC. The receptionists at this practice are inviting covid positive patients into the practice to book appointments and wait in a waiting room full of vulnerable elderly people for an appointment. What a disgrace. Having tested positive for covid and having a serious chest infection i was told to call back or come to reception tomorrow to book an appointment. I asked whether it was ethical that i sit sit amongst vulnerable elderly patients knowing that i have covid, the receptionists reply was yes. Absolute horror show.

This is my Surgery that I am registered to. I have an offer of employment from a job that requires a medical form completing by a Doctor. The form needed completing within 2 weeks, otherwise I cannot start new employment with the company as I need to go through company Human Resources to review the information provided. I appreciate this is an out of hours service, but I was told up to 8 weeks wait for a form to be completed and you have to pay for this service. I think this is a terrible response from the practice. I have now been forced to seek a private doctor who needs to see my own medical records so have then had to request this from the practice. They don't seem to care that in this climate you could lose an offer of employment. Their lack of help and empathy in this situation is absolutely zero. I hope they are never in this position where they require assistance of this nature from a service. I rang the practice on 4 separate occasions to explain the situation and you can tell your pleas are falling on deaf ears. I even spoke with the practice manager who really couldn't care less either. If your thinking of registering here, i really wouldn't bother. You would probably be waiting 8 weeks for your registration forms to be completed.

I was a patient of this practice for 35 years and I must say they used to be absolutely great especially Dr Kini. The doctors are good and I really haven't an issue with them however the management of the practice and the way I have been spoken to is really not acceptable. I have just reluctantly moved practices and I must say the service I have received so far is very good.
