My appointment was scheduled for 8:50am. I was seated in the main reception waiting area at this time and spent the next 10 minutes observing staff arriving for work and greeting one another after the Christmas break. A couple of staff members arrived together just after 9:00am and greeted colleagues in the same way as those who had arrived earlier. One of these staff members then went into the consultation room next to where I was sitting and began logging onto the system and setting up for the day. At 9:10am, I was finally called into this room for my check-up. While the check-up itself was fine, I would prefer either to be seen at my scheduled appointment time or to be offered a later appointment. Waiting 20 minutes beyond my appointment time is frustrating as a customer and feels unprofessional. I hope this feedback can be used to improve appointment scheduling and the overall customer experience.

The machines that do the puff of air test, photograph your eyeball and the field test were all cleaned with Zoflora disinfectant that left an overpowering floral smell which is not good for anyone suffering from Osmophobia. Why can't you use an unscented disinfectant. I had a voucher for VDU glasses but despite telling the staff member he just dismissed me with a "youre free to go", couldn't be bothered explaining again to him, so I'll take my prescription to somewhere that values my custom, just annoyed it's wasted my voucher. The lady Optometrist was very good otherwise I wouldn't have even given 3 stars.

I was met by a lovely friendly staff at the wigan branch of specsavers who clearly explained what tests needs to be done I was in the wigan branch for 2 hours why the staff carried out several tests on my eyes lucky all i needed was reading glasses but the staff led me threw the tests by explaining explaining what's happening for each tests as I was getting blared vision but all I required was just reading glasses which I'm very happy about, all the staff at the wigan branch are very hard working staff extremely caring thoughtful and very respectful and understanding I'd certainly recommend the wigan branch of specsavers to anyone who needs to have there vision tested all staff are a credit to the specsavers team From Andrew Farnworth

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had an eye exam and contacts check with Danysh and left genuinely impressed. He’s friendly, easy to chat to, and walked me through everything. Explained things clearly, answered all of my questions without rushing, and it’s obvious he’s passionate about his job. Great guy and just an overall positive experience.

Always helpful welcoming and friendly staff. Lots of choice, and in all price ranges. Good offers. Less brighter pairs than I personally would have liked, but more than other businesses.

Won’t let me book an online appointment because I apparently missed one, I had none booked. Told me I have to go on the day and hope there’s a cancellation, not exactly practical for a working mum- there’s a reason I book in advance!

Terrible service and massively unhelpful. Apparently, you are not eligible for a free contact lens trial if you have ever had contact lenses at any point in your life, even though the website says that customers are permitted one trial per year and that trials are available for anybody new to lenses or who is wanting to change their type of lens. My previous experiences of Specsavers weren't exactly positive and I was only planning to start using them again as they have details of lenses that I had several years ago. My medical needs and eyes have changed significantly in over two years since I last wore contact lenses (or saw anyone at Specsavers) hence I need to try some lenses. But, having worn contact lenses over two years ago makes me ineligible for a trial. This has reminded me why I stopped going to Specsavers in the first place so I suppose it has worked out well for me as I have received far superior care at Vision Express. In my case, I should never have gone to Specsavers and this recent experience confirms that.

I felt that the staffs were not appropriately competent. I noticed a few mistakes as well as miscalculations in the price of spectacles. I am not sure if I was charged fairly because two individuals priced me differently.

Can't fault the service. My son has been using here for his glasses for past 10 years. Always friendly and helpful staff. Also you can get through on the phone aswell, which is very rare nowadays!

Great service. Best eye exam I have had in 4 prs of glasses long (about 15 years, NOT done with SpecSavers). Excellent selection of frames in a range of prices. Best fit in about 15 years too.
