Good: The campsite is pretty, clean, and tidy. It has everything you need. The welcome was very friendly. The showers are very spacious and clean. But: Although they appear to be quite new, they are not proper showers, but push-button showers. Why would anyone do that? It's so rude! Even worse: the skylights are open, it's cold and dark in autumn – and then there's no heating! Drying off was a frosty experience. There are also no trash cans in the women's showers. In addition, the prices were very high: €33 during the week, €36 on weekends – in mid-October without any extras. It would be a top spot if it were cheaper and had better standards in the hygiene block.

Probably the best campsite we've stayed at in England. Very well maintained grass and pitches, bathrooms were spotless and actually smelled good! Washing up station was also very tidy and actually had mixer taps, so you don't burn your hands. The showers were probably the best I've had, while camping - didn't just turn off after 5 seconds, the pressure was great and temperature stayed consistent throughout, plus there was a plenty of space. Also a big plus is the paved drive, so you don't have to worry about damaging your car. Staff were also very nice. Would definitely recommend!

We have just come back from a weekend at this beautiful campsite. Everything was perfect (even the weather!) we had the very end plot for our tent and it was so peaceful. The nieces and nephews loved being able to play with the other children on site... everybody was so friendly. The little path that takes you to The Shrewsbury Arms in 10 minutes was another plus! 5 star camping.

What a cracking hidden gem. Tucked away in a sleepy hollow a short walk to the Shrewsbury Arms WiFi a bit iffy but it takes nothing away from this lovely site. Will definitely be going back

Great site, very welcoming. Short walk (no roads) to a nice pub. Site very clean and facilities are excellent.

This site is in a beautiful setting, fabulous toilet block, spotlessly clean, lots of space. dog walking field a big bonus. Personally though cannot thank Lisa who is so welcoming and friendly and went over and above to ask other campers if they had an air pump I could use and a massive thank you to the kind man who pumped up my tent. First time as a lone camper but felt safe at Shay's... This is definitely 5 ⭐.... Thanks Sara..
