Lovely little Camping and Caravanning Club site, smack bang next door to the railway station as well for ease of access by public transport. Also good for day trips to Chester.

Used this site as close to home for our first trip out with the caravan after 30 years My brother in law and wife offered a helping hand to help set up the van as its all new & modern these days We checked on the Website and it said visitors welcome but that certainly wasn't the reaction they both received when arriving on site They waited at the barrier and asked could they enter but where refused entry so my brother in law asked could the barrier be raised so he could turn around to park else where? The rude warden refused to raise the barrier making him reverse onto a blind bend with a 60mph speed limit absolutely ludicrous & dangerous My sister in law is disabled and after walking down a very busy narrow road with sticks was exhausted when she got to my caravan & feeling poorly, so I will not be using this site again and telling all my friends and family to give this military run campsite a very wide berth I know there has to be rules but please show compassion and commonsense when dealing with people with disabilities Maybe a customer service refresher course might be beneficial

Went to visit family who were staying on site. We arrived and were met by a barrier system. When I went into the office to be let in I was told abruptly sorry they already have 1 vehicle on the pitch so you have to park off site. I explained I am disabled and my walking is not good. And asked if they had anywhere I could park. The answer was a strict NO. I had to park down the road at a train station and then had to walk along a busy main road that had no footpath. Doing this with bad mobility and walking sticks is not fun. I just can’t believe they had no parking facilities on site for disabled visitors. Can I also add there was many empty pitches on site too. It wasn’t like they were full. I thought every company had to have disabled facilities these days. Hence to add the whole family including those staying would not recommend this site.

Nicely laid out site next to station. Nice easy walks to local farm shop, Chinese Resturant, pubs and Delamere Lake & Forest. Lovely cafe at Delamere Station. Great for exploring Northwich, Chester & Manchester.

Lovely site, right next to the forest. There is traffic noise if you get a pitch near the road, as we did last year. But this time we were near the top of the site and it was really peaceful. lt's a few minutes walk to Go Ape and a short walk from there to the visitor centre which is superb. There's loads of walks and kids activities in the forest and at the visitor centre. There's also a Forestry Commission car park nearby on the other side of the road and a selection of walks there as well. The train to Chester takes 20 minutes (the station is next door to the site) There's no on site parking for visitors and the station car park states "train or cafe customers only" However it's only £2 for the day, and how would they know whether or not you got a train. The toilet and shower block is very nice and the pitches are a reasonable size. (you can fit 'van, awning and car side by side on most of them) There's two nice fields for tents and campers, they're spacious and mostly flat. The small shop stocks essential items such as milk, tea bags and basic food items. Overall a great site. But maybe find somewhere for a few visitors cars. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent site. Lovely and clean. Nice big pitch. Can walk to Carriers arms about 1 mile. Although quite a dark road, need a torch.

An ok site. We were picked up on our membership. cards being out of date on arrival and yet they could see on the screen that we had paid our membership. I explained we had been away for a long time and hadn't been able to pick them up. We were then shown to our pitch and the staff member made a huge deal of how we parked emphasizing that we must park with with our front wheel on the white peg with the awning to the right and keep 6 metres from our neighbour. The next day when we arrived back at the site after a walk we had new neighbours and they had parked their caravan with no adherence to the white markers literally less than 4m from ours not the 6m they advertise for safety. And that's how it was left for the next 2 days until we left despite staff walking by!!! On our last day the sun was shining so we decided to do our laundry and the room was locked and no staff around to ask, we tried the door numerous times and there were no staff around at all. Eventually a few hours later I saw a member of staff parking a new arrival & when asked he said it had been locked so that the staff could do their laundry which I understand but what about the campers too? And a notice would have helped. The facilities are ok there were only 3 toilets open ( 2 were locked!) whilst I was there and it was half term so quite busy, personally I think they should have all been open given how busy it was. I also don't know if it was the amount of footfall, or the weather or a combination of both but they didn't stay clean that long either. Another point is that there are huge pot holes around the site which are severe for driving but also for walking around particularly when it's dark, make sure you bring a torch If you are out and about at night. That being said the site is situated right next to Delamere Forest with lots of trails for walking and cycling at your doorstep and Go Ape There were big queues at the Visitor centre cafe (half term) but the station cafe next door was relatively quiet and much nicer. A nice pub a mile down the road too, the Carriers Inn and it's dog friendly. Lots of geese flying over in the morning and night and also the lovely sounds of owls so you do get a sense of being in the woods. But on the downside it's close to the busy road and the station too, so don't forget your ear plugs.

Perfect location close to transport and of course right in Delamere forest. Clean and very well kept. Staff are so friendly, kind and always smiling. We are so lucky to have this an hours drive away. Kids love coming here just as much as we do.

It’s nice that the site is rather flat, the staff are pleasant and helpful, the facilities are kept clean, and they sell some essentials on-site. However the gates have an 11pm curfew which almost ruined our stay, so if you plan to have long days out of activity and exploring then you will get locked out of the site and you can’t park anywhere in the near vicinity. One thing of note is that when we packed away our things to leave, we found a number of lizards under our groundsheet which we weren’t expecting.
