The staff is really friendly and the breakfast is really good. The sad part is, prices have gone up so much since we couldn't book it again last month.

After a hard day's work, reaching this beautiful hotel at 9pm was an amazing sight. With it's 1950's period setting, exquisite rooms (yes they are that good) and perfect service from the staff, this hotel is my pick of the year.... actually this is my new number one hotel in the UK. Breakfast was filling and delicious, perfectly arranged on the plate, arrived promptly and courteously. Big thanks to Ellie who was on the front desk when I arrived, friendly and very helpful, a credit to the team there as this was the perfect welcome into what is the best hotel experience you'll find on these shores.

Absolutely loved our one night stay at this hotel, we were so warmly welcomed and shown to our room. The room was lovely, with ironing board, hairdryer, fan, safe and a fridge with water and milk to use the tea/coffee facilities. It was about 20 minute walk to the city centre but there are also pubs, local shops a street away. The breakfast was really good and cooked to order. A really lovely place. Thank you!

Good location, only 0.8 miles easy walk into the old town. Comfortable room, if a little small [only a double room was available). The breakfast is outstanding and plentyfull.. A couple of issues that stopped me rating it higher (despite the excellent breakfast) were the room lighting was a little dim (not helped by one of the 3 bulbs in the light had failed. We could not adjust the room heating as the radiator thermostat was missing. The receptionist had to turn off the entire hotel heating to stop our room getting too hot. Good for us, but many not helpful for the other rooms if they were a bit cool. Lastly, they only change the towels every 3 days, which is fine if you had somewhere to hang ghem when used/wet. There are no hooks in the bathroom (or bedroom) to hang then or a dressing gown if you had one. A real oversight that is easy and cheap to fix. One bonus item was the provision of a bar fridge with fresh milk. Nice touch for coffee/tea drinkers

We booked this place very last minute to get away after my mom's funeral. The place was so lovely, the bed was massive and really comfortable, me, my partner and our 17 month old slept well in it with loads of room. The bath was amazing and so warm. We're vegan and they provided us with soya milk in our room instead of cow's. Then at breakfast we had our own menu, with a selection of cereals, fruits, porridge, vegan bacon, vegan sausages, mushrooms, spinach, potato cakes, waffles and toast. The vegan butter was already on the table for us too as well as soya milk at breakfast. It just felt like nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay again if we're back that way.

Dave & Kirsty were so welcoming, from the moment we pulled into the drive we was greeted with a warm welcome. It was my partner's birthday and I asked if some decorations could be arranged in the room, this was absolutely no trouble and the room looked lovely when we arrived. Our room was immaculate, clean and homely with a wonderful power shower. Breakfast was exceptional, so tasty, fresh and well presented. It Is very clear that every at the Stone Villa works so hard and takes so much pride in this gorgeous little Chester gem. Will most definitely be back for another stay.
