“Caroline’s home is lovely and she’s really helpful and communicative if you have any queries. I am on a six month contract for work (MDS at Iceland), and Caroline has lots of tenants on short-term contracts, so she is ideal for my situation! The house is close to the train station and there is free parking on the street. My housemates are all really lovely as well, so Caroline is ideal if you want to live with other young professionals!”

“My experience of ‘hoots’ is nothing but a positive one! I moved into my student home last year and at the beginning was very nervous to be away from the halls that I had previously lived in. I soon realised that I had nothing to worry about, the house was clean and all in good working order. Any problems that did occur were dealt with promptly and efficiently. “We had a lovely 5 night stay at Netherwood. It was a very peaceful site. The warden was very friendly and welcomed us on arrival. The toilet facilities were clean with a good electric shower. The children enjoyed the wee park and tree swing. We enjoyed walking along the canal path in to Chester.”

“Site up-to usual club standards and wardens helpful and polite. Location perfect for the designer shopping 15 minute walk away including a Sainsbury’s supermarket and several eating places. Not far from the canal boat museum, Anderton boat lift, Chester - use park and ride just 3 miles away, Port Sunlight garden centre, museum and art gallery and Blakemere Village just a few miles from the Anderton boat lift.”

“Had an absolutely fantastic stay here. The staff were so accommodating, had to extend our stay by a night and it was no issue. Rooms were lovely and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Location was fantastic. I would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat.”

“Classic Chester city centre pub with low beams and darker interior although the music livened the place up nicely. Enjoyed my visit and a decent selection of real ales and candles lit on all the tables adding to a nice relaxing vibe. Looks historical on the outside and even more so after you enter.”

“Sophie and Erica were awesome staff, so helpful and friendly. The fish and chips was exceptional, plenty to share between the 2 of us with a garlic bread. The atmosphere was a typical English pub - great service and very warm and welcoming.”

“Stayed overnight whilst in the area for a friend’s birthday party. Lovely, clean room with spacious bathroom - shower looked like it had been installed days ago. The best breakfast I’ve had for a long time - freshly cooked eggs royal. Really extensive breakfast menu and very reasonably priced. All cooked to order. Beautiful presentation. Delightful staff.”

“We needed somewhere close to the waterways museum and this was the perfect spot. The staff in the hotel and the restaurant were great, happy, smiling nothing too much trouble and the meal we had was excellent. Our room on the 3rd floor gave us great views over the canals and museum. I would highly recommend. The only potential problem is what appears to be limited parking, although there was a wedding on when we were there which may have been the cause of the problem.”

“I found this a hidden gem. Room was great. Staff very helpfull. Price quality equation very good. Food also good. Parking great for the bike. Trucks passing by can disturb light sleeping people, but i am not.”

“Wonderful location. The accommodation size and quality is what we expected for the price of a suite. We did have one precariously wonky and unstable table. The bed was incredibly comfy. We enjoyed being able to order breakfast to the room.”

“I didnr stay at this hotel but went for dinner with friends and I just wanted to say that having eaten several times at this hotel this was the very best. The main thing was the service. We had a delightful young woman that looked after us she was efficient, knowledgeable,well presented and took our orders with minimum effort. Why cant all waiting on staff be like her. She even listened to my suggestion of a large print menu or magnifier to assist people with poor sight to remain independent whilst out. Having spoken in favour of our waiting on staff I should also say the food was lovely too.”

“Stayed here the night before my wedding in Chester in the Ascot Suite apartment. Lovely, spacious room with a panoramic view of the Racecourse, and which provided a great backdrop for the photos of myself and the Groomsmen getting ready in prior to the wedding. Separate bedroom was a good size with comfy bed for the night, and the kitchen/lounge area was very spacious which was used in the aforementioned photos. The staff on the front desk were super friendly and helpful, can't complement them enough. A great place to stay in a lovely city.”

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service provided by the gentleman who worked night shift on the 27th November 2025. From the moment we arrived, his kindness and warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome. My husband just lost his mam that night and we both were devastated. My husband forgot to register our car but the gentleman offered his help and sorted it out for us. He even offered his condolences which is very kind and heartwarming. Unfortunately we forgot to ask his name. He wears glasses and worked night shift on 27 November 2025. He consistently went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of, always greeting us with a friendly smile and a genuine willingness to help. We only stayed for 1 night but we've already decided to book this hotel again every time we're in the area.”

“I stayed at Abbeygate in my first year and moved away for second but had to come back for my third year as it was the best accommodation I have been in. The staff members are amazing, Carly the manager, The RSA joel and lynsey have been outstanding staff at Abbeygate. I have had no issues staying at Abbeygate and if I did I know that I would be looked after. Abbeygate is an amazing accommodation to stay at it’s affordable, reliable and close to the town centre!”

Emma and James are brilliant him and all his quirks, and they've been lifesavers over the last couple years! We love the Facebook updates too, it's so good to see how happy all the dogs are.”

“Centrally located, high end, self catering accommodation. The Courtyard Apartment is tastefully decorated, fully equipped and immaculately clean. Located within a few minutes walk of the city centre, the river Dee and Grosvenor Park. We had a fabulous 3 night stay there.”
