“Luxurious Stay - We stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful hotel which is modern with a relaxing and homely feel. The rooms were immaculate, our breakfast was waiting for us in the dining room each morning , and was both excellent quality and plentiful. We will definitely recommend and stay again in the future.”

“The most beautiful hotel!! So welcoming and friendly. Amazing views. Petra, Martyn and Casper made us feel right at home and totally relaxed. We can’t recommend it enough. Our only regret is not booking to eat there. The food sounded amazing with a different choice each night. We wanted to visit Burgh Island and eat over there but wish we had stuck to the hotel for food. The breakfast was plentiful. They can’t do enough for you. Will definitely return. “Lovely place, very clean, friendly and helpful, after we experienced an awful time leaving our dog with a pet sitter at home we decided kennels was safer I was so worried being an older dog and not being used to kennels but I felt at ease leaving her in good hands, because the staff make you feel at ease. our dog loved it here! She’s come home very calm and I can tell she’s been well looked after. the kennels are large clean, she come home very happy and healthy, I have no concerns at all and I’m so pleased we’ve found somewhere our beloved family pet can stay whilst we are away and know she’ll be well taken care of, it takes a big stress away from our family and we will most definitely be using chatmar again and recommending them, it’s also in an ideal location just off the A30 slip way so it’s easy drop offs with no hassles when travelling. “Our dog has just had his first stay at Rowes Pet Hotel. Sharon filled us with confidence. The kennels themselves and the exercise area are all perfect. The kennels are exceptionally clean and heat controlled. Sharon gave us a tour when we arrived and throughout his stay she really seemed to get to know our dog and to meet his needs. She is clearly very experienced. She was happy to communicate with us during his stay to offer reassurance, which we appreciated. We’re not certain he wanted to leave as he had a lovely time running around in the enclosed field! Thank you Sharon.”

“We left our 4 chihuahuas and 1 sausage dog here for a week. We couldn’t recommend this business more highly. Our dogs are very small and nervous so we were worried. We were amazed at how they just happily walked off with the staff on the first day. These staff are total experts and really love the dogs. We’ve seen videos of wagging tails, tummy rubs and food scoffing - never thought our dogs would do any of that! They’ve come back happy and well. I will not hesitate to leave them here again. “A simply superb place to take your other half to celebrate anything. Food and drink was great, really historic hotel full of character. Faultless service. We had the evening meal in the ballroom, with a different wine with each course. Simply superb. The trio - a singer, piano player and guitarist, were perfect, great ambiance. Expensive stay, but worth every penny.”

“We popped in today for a delicious cream tea. We were served by Freya who only started here a month ago. She was so lovely and very friendly. We have been coming to The Thurlestone for many years and always love it here but Freya made it extra special for us today plus it was her Birthday. She is a real asset to the Hotel.”

“Another lovely stay, at this homely, family run hotel. Four days of being well looked after, by attentive friendly staff. Nice clean comfortable room, in the summer house with our dogs, who are given lots of attention and fuss, which they lap up. The management go above and beyond,to ensure all your needs are met, so you have a relaxing, stress free holiday. The food is very good, breakfast has a good selection of cereals and fresh fruit, along with a full English breakfast which is served pipping hot and well presented. The evening meals have a good selection to suit all tastes and are freshly home made and delicious, also generous portions. The grounds are well presented and pretty, ideal to relax in with a cold beer or cocktail or two, especially in the glorious weather we had for our stay. All in all, we had a lovely break here and are leaving feeling refreshed. But not before booking a return visit in September for more of the same pampering”

“We went for a spa day here on New Year's Day and it was the best spa day we've ever had! The range of pools, saunas, steam rooms and relaxation areas was outstanding (we especially loved the outdoor whirlpool that you could swim to from inside the main pool hall, and the private hot tub accessible off one of the relaxation rooms); the food served as part of the lunch package was excellent quality; and the massages were out of this world, the hot stone all-body massage from Christy being the best I've ever had! My only negative comment is for some reason the spa doesn't allow you to select your lunch and treatment times via their website ... or should I say, they DO let you choose them, but they don't honour them – they say the treatment times are only finalised on the morning of the day itself ... meaning you could plan your day around arriving late, having a late lunch and having your treatments in the afternoon ... only to arrive and find your treatments were booked in for first thing (or you could quite conceivably miss them altogether if you didn't arrive early enough). We've never had this at a spa before (we've always been able to book lunch and treatment times in advance) and don't understand why they operate in this manner, especially as their website allows you to select specific times for both lunch and the treatments ... hopefully they remove this unnecessary limitation in the future, as it rather took the shine off the excitement leading up to the day. This aside, we still both left feeling the most relaxed and pampered we'd felt in a long time, and whenever we're next in the area we'll certainly be visiting again!”

“A Wonderful Stay at Soar Mill Cove Hotel We’ve just returned from a 4-day stay at the lovely Soar Mill Cove Hotel near Salcombe, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful—nothing was too much trouble. The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views over the sea. Just a short walk from the hotel takes you to a secluded cove and beach, which felt like a hidden gem. It’s also a perfect spot for dog owners, with plenty of beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Breakfast each morning was a treat, with plenty of choice and everything freshly prepared. The restaurant food was exceptional—delicious, well-cooked, and beautifully presented. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a relaxing, scenic break with top-notch hospitality. “My daughter & her fiancé had their engagement party at The Custom House. Beautiful venue , fabulous location, right on the Barbican . Large function room with bar. The staff are very helpful & friendly. A massive thank you , in particular to Levi , who goes above & beyond. He accommodated all of our requests, to see the venue , when we could go in , as we put up decorations etc etc . He was there on the night (& the next morning ) , to make sure everything went perfectly. I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue.”
