Nightmare sign direction but the venue was lovely and the staff were exceptional. Went for a friend's party so didn't rent a room but definitely would plan to do so, if we're in the area again.

AVOID! We booked the cottage for one night to find it had hair and detritus left all over the room and bathroom including torn up toilet paper and plastic gems. Had NOT been cleaned. All very bizarre. Got moved to room 5 and it was a little better but it still had soap stains in the shower and toothpaste flecks above the sink and the tea spoons were left dirty with fresh tea stains. We didn’t eat breakfast because we were concerned about hygiene standards…if that’s what the rooms look like, one can only imagine what the kitchen looks like! Really disappointed and at check out when ask for a discount for the huge inconvenient at 9pm at night we were given a so called ‘discount’ which was actually more than the price of the new room was listed for on their website with absolutely no apology the next day! Clearly not even bothered! Never again.

A very tired looking hotel with a mishmash of furnishings and decor where nothing seemed to match. The restaurant had no character and very bland. The reception and flooring needs a great deal of TLC as thats the first impression. The receptionist, albeit polite, appeared disinterested and tired. The bar on the otherhand was full of charm with a lovely real fire welcoming you in. The bar/dining waitress was lovely and friendly and very professional. The food was amazing. Beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, well worth the visit just for the food. Lovely location, and could be a fantastic place with a bit more TLC.

Fantastic location on the edge of moors and away from road noise. The breakfast and evening meals were great and cooked fresh. The rooms are being refreshed, adding modern USB charging outlets, etc. Popular wedding location. We stayed mid week, so nice and quiet.

Another lovely stay, at this homely, family run hotel. Four days of being well looked after, by attentive friendly staff. Nice clean comfortable room, in the summer house with our dogs, who are given lots of attention and fuss, which they lap up. The management go above and beyond,to ensure all your needs are met, so you have a relaxing, stress free holiday. The food is very good, breakfast has a good selection of cereals and fresh fruit, along with a full English breakfast which is served pipping hot and well presented. The evening meals have a good selection to suit all tastes and are freshly home made and delicious, also generous portions. The grounds are well presented and pretty, ideal to relax in with a cold beer or cocktail or two, especially in the glorious weather we had for our stay. All in all, we had a lovely break here and are leaving feeling refreshed. But not before booking a return visit in September for more of the same pampering

The Hotel was run by a family who were friendly caring and professional at all times The Hotel building and garden was clean and tidy and the views from the fabulous garden was amazing. A quiet spot just right for relaxing , the food was superb and the service brilliant. If you’re thinking of a wedding venue look here first the owner is definitely a professional wedding planner. Thankyou so much for a wonderful few days we will definitely be down again

We attended a wedding at Lavender House Hotel recently and stayed overnight. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the grounds are beautiful with so many different areas and great places for children to play. It felt a million miles away from the usual corporate nonsense you get at wedding venues. As vegans we were catered for so well, every step of the way. The staff couldn't have been more obliging and had really put some thought into making sure everyone was looked after.
