Staff were lovely. The massage was amazing, food superb and the room we stayed in was immaculate. Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Will definitely be going back again.

My wife and I stayed just one night, and we thoroughly enjoyed it,all the staff were friendly and courteous. A good size heated salt water pool and all facilities spotlessly clean. We will definitely return

Long live Soar Mill Cove! We had a last minute escape to this dreamy place with our 2 girls this week and we fell in love. Such a wonderful place - peaceful, stunning views, amazing staff (especially the fabulous restaurant manager/waiter from Nottingham/waitress with long dark hair. Apologies for not knowing names!). We will be returning to this gem of a hotel as often as possible!

What a find! Came across this on booking.com and decided to book direct for a last minute stop over on the way home from Cornwall back to London. Warmly greeted by Becky on our arrival and shown to a gorgeous room with a stunning view! Super comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms. The food however was on another level! We ate on both nights of our stay because the food was so good on the first night! Well designed menu and not expensive for the quality of produce. The breakfast was lovely and fresh and good free range eggs too. With an onsite swimming pool and sauna this made a really nice retreat. Within a short drive to the lovely Salcombe it was the perfect stay for a short break. Thank you Soar Mill we will return. In times where the hospitality industry has taken a battering, you deserve to be successful.

A Wonderful Stay at Soar Mill Cove Hotel We’ve just returned from a 4-day stay at the lovely Soar Mill Cove Hotel near Salcombe, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful—nothing was too much trouble. The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views over the sea. Just a short walk from the hotel takes you to a secluded cove and beach, which felt like a hidden gem. It’s also a perfect spot for dog owners, with plenty of beautiful walks right on the doorstep. Breakfast each morning was a treat, with plenty of choice and everything freshly prepared. The restaurant food was exceptional—delicious, well-cooked, and beautifully presented. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a relaxing, scenic break with top-notch hospitality. Thank you to everyone at Soar Mill Cove Hotel—we’ll definitely be back

Spent last weekend at this Hotel celebrating our Golden Wedding with family. The natural setting is outstanding, with a short walk to the beach. Rooms and food were excellent. Most of all the staff were outstanding and dog friendly. Unfortunatley I lost my wedding ring on the beach (after 50 years!). But as with all romantic stories there was a happy ending when the Hotel phoned this evening to say it had been found. Thank you so so much to a fantastic team. We will be back!

The beach is beautiful but the service is terrible. Came to get an ice cream for the children in the cafe, was told £1.80 per scoop of ice cream so ordered four. Then was charged over £11. Questioned it and was then told £2.80 per scoop by someone else. Really annoyed. No prices displayed so you go on what you’re told and then it’s 50% more. No apologies or offer to check with the member of staff who told me that. Very disappointing. Beach and location is beautiful but let down by the cafe. Be really sure what the price is if you decide to come!

Down the end of a Devon Country Lane so unless you want to walk the five miles to get into Salcombe, you're pretty isolated. Car essential. Having said that, the location is pretty awesome, if you're fit. Just 1/4 mile from the SW Coast path. Pretty hard to fault the place really. Room was clean and spacious, the staff are charming, the breakfast menu is excellent and the evening menu is fine. They also make and sell their own gin which is delicious. The view from the dining room and lounge is excellent and there's plenty of tables outside if its a nice evening. The hotel is dog friendly mind so if dogs aren't your thing.... The only niggle was at dinner one night my steak was very thin, as if the chef had taken one normal ribeye and had sliced it horizontally to make two thinner ones. It was well cooked and delicious but for £30, they could have been a bit more generous. Nonetheless, we had a great stay. A really nice hotel with good food, really nice staff and excellent gin. Quiet and peaceful, especially if you're a walker but perhaps not for those who like to go out on the town in the evening

We had a lovely weekend here. The friendly staff made us most welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was delicious & beautifully presented at both dinner & breakfast, the room was spacious & spotless and the massage we had in the spa was one of the best I’ve had. The coast path is right on the doorstep providing stunning views from the cove view bedrooms and the restaurant/lounge. A true gem of a hotel.
