“Brilliant campsite! Stayed here for 3 nights. The facilities are brilliant, very clean and spacious. They allow use of a freezer to freeze ice packs, which is a real life saver when camping. Staff were very friendly and approachable. The food and drink in the restaurant was nice, we ate the first night, and went back again on the last as we enjoyed it that much. Good for walkers with lots of routes out of the site, equally good location central to lots of things to drive to.”

“We have spent an absolutely amazing, magical weekend at this place. The hosts were so helpful and invited us to feed the alpacas and horses that we loved. The scenery is breathtaking and not having mobile phone signal and wifi is a huge advantage. It helps to come off the screens, focus on each other, have more conversations, play games and relax. The domes are lovely, comfortable, clean and very well equipped. The added details like the smores kit,mugs and the activity pack for children are just topping it all. So thoughtful and now we have our most preferred mugs at home. There was one thing though that none of us liked...leaving. We really didn't like leaving this truly beautiful place. We will certainly be back and can't recommend this enough. Thank you to the amazing hosts!”

“Just returned from my latest stay with railholiday. Have been visiting for many years and stayed in each of the carriages at St Germans. This trip was a return to Millpool with has one of best views overlooking the Cornish countryside. In all this time the holiday experience has been more than 5 star and Lizzy and Dave continue to be the perfect hosts - not intrusive but always there for help and advice. The carriages are always clean and cosy (even in January) and everything works! I plan on a second visit this year, so thanks for having me… ERIC G (Hertfordshire)”

“I loved it here so much! Pam (owner) is so lovely and welcoming and showed me where everything is and it was a pleasure to meet her. I was then left to my own peaceful little camp. Super quiet and a beautiful location. Had a walk around the woodland and woke up and had breakfast surrounded by beautiful trees. I will be back many time more for sure!!! Highley recommend, true hidden gem!”

“We had the pleasure of staying here in our campervan last weekend. The owners Fiona and Elaine were welcoming and took time with all new arrivals to see that they were happy and equipped with valuable local knowledge - (routing our cycling trip to minimise unnecessary hill climbing was very welcome! ) The onsite facilities were spacious and well appointed in a location that offers great access to a choice of fun places to eat & visit. The visiting coffee guy in a tiny three wheel scooter derived van was a nice touch in the morning. So thank you Fiona & Elaine, your site is happily added to our list of great places we plan on returning to.”

“The best wild camping site I have ever stayed! 200 acres of nature to camp amongst. You can camp next to the river, in the quarry, above the farm with amazing views, green fields, meadows and amongst the orchards. Waking up to the sound of the bird song and river flow is a relaxing start to the day. You're allowed fires and they offer free fire pits and sell wood at only £5 a bucket. The owners are super friendly and really make this wild site. The showers are hot and the toilets clean. You don't even have to book, just rock up and pay and find your own space. They allow tents, car camping, vans, motorhomes and even hammocks. I've stayed at alot of wild camping sites and this is by far the best.”

“We took our four year old and were there all day without getting bored or fed up. We had a happy exhausted child after. Good outdoors wholesome fun, loads to do. Cafe is expensive but it’s worth it because the food is great and big portions. Sit inside during summer - the wasps aren’t shy. We loved it and will come back again.”

“Another great week at Looe Country Park on our seasonal touring caravan pitch. Very festive with lots of Christmas lights. As before lovely and quiet, clean modern toilets with good showers. The nearby 'Coddy Shack' does good meals. Mount Edgecumbe at Rame Head is worth a visit (interesting coastal walks, great café).”

“Easy to access in our campervan and a lovely warm welcome from the warden on our arrival. A very well maintained site and while the shower block was showing its age, it was kept very clean by the hard working wardens. The fully enclosed dog walking field (pictured) is great - large and well kept with a nice bench and well positioned poo bin, we found the site nice and dog friendly. A quiet site to relax on, we will definitely be back and enjoyed our stay.”

“We had a pleasant 4-night stay at Notter Mill Country Park in February. Our main reason for the visit was to see family, and the comfortable bed & modern kitchen in our accommodation was a definite plus. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the place. The hot tub was a highlight for us - it was well-maintained and very hot. Another cozy touch was the lovely log fire that added to our overall experience. However, we did encounter some minor issues. Adjusting the shower temperature was a bit tricky, and the muddy grounds due to the wet weather made getting in and out the car a pain, but the wet weather can’t be helped. We would definitely consider staying at Notter Mill Country Park again in the future.”

“Lovely peaceful stay at Looe CAMC. Wardens were really approachable, cheerful and helpful. Shower blocks were very clean, the lower one tends to get less busy with fewer children using that end of the site. Great that one block closes in the morning and the other in the afternoon, I hate being forced to get up lol. The site is really well kept, many pitches need levellers but there are so many to choose from you’re not forced to take an awkward one. The dog walk has a lovely view, shame you have to keep an eye where you are walking as so many think ‘free to run off lead’ means free to leave your poop behind too. We didn’t use the pool but our neighbours did and had a great time. We had a really peaceful stay but equally there’s a more fun vibe up by the play area, it’s great to see so many children playing together and riding around. Met some great kids with really fab manners. The bus was handy for Plymouth, Looe and Polperro, timetable is in the information room. And The Coddy Shack 10 mins walk (max) down the road is fantastic. The mussels were the best we’ve had in along time. All in all though a lovely peaceful stay helped by great weather. Defo recommend!”

“Conveniently located to visit south hams. Friendly helpful knowledgeable staff Clean well kept campsite. Corner shop and garage and pub 5 mins away Basic shop but it does stock vegetarian Magnums!”

“Phil and Jane couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. It was a very wet day so I was very glad to reach the farmhouse. Wet gear was left over the AGA to dry and I made myself comfortable in my room. There is a communal room with kitchen available for guest use which was so useful. Variety of food to buy (honesty box) if you dont have anything with you which was really helpful. Breakfast was top notch. Highly recommend!”

“We only went to the indoor pool as day visitors so can only comment on those facilities. I'm extremely pleased to report that from the warm welcome and exceptional hospitality, through the excellent and abundant changing rooms that include several sizes of rooms, family, baby changing and easy accessibility, free lockers, showers and even about 6 free hairdryers with huge mirrors front and behind, on to the best most child friendly indoor water park I personally have seen in this country. With safe shallow pool's featuring multiple small slides, sensory fountains and educational features as well as two excellent big slides for older kids and adults, the whole facility is well staffed. Myself, my partner and our 17 month old son will be going back every week! Cannot recommend it enough, fantastic!”

“The park itself is really nice. There’s a beach right next to the park which is handy. The only beef I have is the roads into and out of the park, they are done of the narrowest I have been on and when you get 3 or 4 cars in a line coming the other way it can be difficult to navigate without scratching your motor. I think a one way system on the roads would be a better option making it safe for everyone.”

“Great location right next to the beach and sea. Villas are very modern and clean with all facilities needed for a family of 4 with a toddler. The cafe/bar/restaurant is very nice for wine, gin, and food and being located just off the beach is great. 5 minutes drive to the village of Looe which is brilliant and cheap to park all day. The only thing that lets this location down, and it is only a small thing, is the permanent residents in the villas on site. All holiday villas are maintained really well, but some of the residents do let it down with the look and presentation of the site with overgrown gardens or personal belongings everywhere. But still easily worth 5*****”

“Have been coming to Crealy for years with my daughter using the annual pass. It’s the best thing we ever bought! But Christmas at Crealy is just another level. We come every year, and for only £15 per child it is absolutely value for money. There is a 30-45 minute experience and your child’s pick of 50+ different toys from Santas Workshop. This year did not disappoint either - there can be some queuing as there is a constant flow of people moving through, but the staff/elves are just incredible. Huge shoutout to Baubles the elf (absolutely hilarious and so engaging with the children!) and Louise on entrance (all round lovely incredible lady) as they really made our experience this year. Book it next year or this if you have time - your child’s will not be disappointed.”

“This park feels very welcoming and homely even in December. Appreciate that they give you a call when your accommodation is ready to check in + friendly staff on the reception and around the swimming pool, clean and comfortable static. Swimming pool is very warm and no need to book/ keep to a time.”

“We spent a fabulous 2 nights here after expecting to only stay the one. Thanks to the welcoming and friendly owners finding a space for us last minute. So glad we did. We got to cycle our planned circular route and base ourself at this stunning 'bijou' campsite. Owls hooting, starfilled skies, peace and tranquility. The area has so much to offer anyway but to come back to a lovely setting in nature was a blissful and immersive experience. Would love to come again. Thanks so much.”

“As wardens we like to get away for a night and try different surroundings. We booked at 11.30pm Sunday evening for the following day, received an email asking for our arrival time. We replied back asking when the earliest was we could arrive. Fabulous response the following morning to say we can arrive at 2 instead of 3. Lovely When we arrived the reception lady was very nice, helpful and showed us where to go. First impressions of the bedroom was lovely, walked inside bed comfy, towels, hand towels, shampoo and shower gel all on the bed. Tea making facilities all ready. Clean lovely bathroom. View was very nice you could see the ocean and at night all the lights in the distance. We went back and booked for a swim. The staff were fantastic, we had forgotten towels and they kindly gave us a couple for free. The pool was okay, it didn't seem to be heated but not freezing cold. You could see it was near end of season and could do with a bit of a clean however it didn't offend me and we enjoyed ourselves. Thank you. I have absolutely no real negatives just a couple of comments. The outside furniture has seen better days with one of them being broken and mismatched. The kettle which was brilliant being normal size was a little tricky to fill but we used a cup to fill it from the sink. The wardrobe area looked a bit dated. Considering the above none of this spoilt our visit and we would absolutely return again. Thank you all for being great.”

“The camp warden, Jim, was most accommodating in finding the correct pitch for me, being a single mature female. He offered help and advice with repairs and problems with my vehicle and checked daily to see that I was alright. The facilities are always clean, smell nice and well looked after. A washing machine would be a welcome addition.”

“Just wanted to say a big thank you to Jack, one of the groundskeepers, who helped us when we had a flat tyre after swimming lessons. It saved me changing the wheel in the dark with my little one there too. Thank you!”
