Great campsite on the edge of Dartmoor. Incredibly friendly reception and welcome. The facilities especially the shower block is fantastic and very clean.
Not one of my favourite CCC sites. Quite a bit of road noise on one side and dog barking from the boarding kennels on the other side. If you have transport it is probably a good base to explore the local area, but if you’re in a motorhome and don’t want to go out in it everyday I think this site offers very little. Walking from the site is taking your life in your hands, there are no pavements and the road is National speed limit so vehicles come past very quickly. I did risk it as I was desperate to get out for a decent walk with my dog, but once was enough. The site is well looked after and the wardens friendly, but it’s not somewhere I wild return to.
Booked last minute after a change in plans. We were put off by a CCC site north of the border before, but his place couldn’t have been friendlier or more welcoming. A very professional team on site, with immaculate facilities, we both really liked the enclosed shower/toilet/sink cubicles. The WiFi was a bonus and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
We settled down for a few nights here. The warm welcome greeted by the staff was so lovely, happy to show us around! Gave us invaluable advice on local pubs, sightseeing. Honestly Peter Tavy Inn, was recommend and my gosh did it surpass and exceed expectations. Great for getting around too, Tavistock Market, best rated in UK is nearby. We also drove up the road and did a big day hike into Dartmoor, perfect. Showers and amenities are all clean, well maintained. Shower heads need updating though. We encountered car trouble on our second to last day, they are very relaxed and accommodating and allowed us to check out later than usual which was lovely, Thanks Tony. Would come back tomorrow!
Excellent campsite with very clean facilities and everything well maintained. For us in a motorhome the biggest problem is it has no drive-over grey waste disposal point. It is also not possible to reach any footpaths without walking quite a long way on a fairly road. However, the site does have a good dog walking area.
Small nicely managed site, On the edge of Dartmoor. Bus stop right out side gate. Long uphill from town.
Staff is very friendly, has nice places and very clean. Definitely, we'll return.
What a lovely location. A great base for exploring the surrounding areas. The site is immaculate, The showers, loos and washing-up areas were really clean. 3 minutes from Dartmoor. Tavistock is a lovely town to explore.
Been coming here for over 10 years. Love it. Easy to get to Tavistock and 2 mins from Dartmoor for a walk with the dog. Lovely clean site. Water pressure in showers can be a bit hit and miss but as we have our own facilities not such a big deal for us. Excellent dog walk on the site for our 'princess'!
This has to be one of the friendliest site and most welcoming staff where I've ever had the fortune to stay at. I turned up on the day I booked and even turned up and got checked I early. I only originally intended to be there for just the one night but enjoyed having this place to go back to each evening a stay for a total of three. It has all the amenities one would ever need when taking a break from wild camping, showers, laundry, information room and even a little shop to get just the little thing you might need. Within 45 min walking distance from Tavistock town centre and right on the very edge of the moors it's in a great location. I can promise one thing, the next time I visit Dartmoor this place will 100% be marked on my route card.
