   We had a short break in the Old Luggage Van at St Germans. We travelled by train and the accommodation is adjacent to the platform so very easy to access. The accommodation was clean and very cosy. Even being very picky it is hard to find even a minor flaw. We were provided with information before arrival so knew exactly what to bring and what to expect. St Germans is very small (a hamlet might be talking it up!) but the train service is roughly hourly so getting about is fairly easy. There's a small community shop & Post Office a ten minute walk away which is delightful. The volunteers were keen to advise on the best places to go for a meal (and places to avoid!) you can't beat local knowledge. If you're there on a Wednesday there's the once a week bus too for added excitement. But there's also only one a week back, so you don't want to miss it! You can buy through tickets, on the train, to Padstow changing onto the bus at Bodmin Parkway. You can walk from Bodmin Parkway to Lanhydrock. You can get the train to Liskeard and the lovely little branch line to Looe for a quaint little seaside village. You can get the train Plymouth or Exeter for City days out. There's lots to do. The accommodation itself has everything (and more!) you could want and is spotless and well maintained. We will be back.

   We stayed in the Travelling Post Office for our anniversary. One of the owners came out to greet us and gave us recommendations on what to do while there. Upon entering the carriage, there were some lovely locally-made treats (cider, beer, biscuits), everything was clean and ready for us and overall just very welcoming. The weather wasn’t the best (unsurprising, given it was January in Cornwall!) but that meant it was perfect to use the log burner. Small but mighty - it warmed the whole carriage! The trainline right outside was perfect for us as train nerds, but they didn’t run too early or too late as to disturb our sleep. We’ve decided this will be our go-to anniversary get away. Our plan is to rotate between the carriages!

   A very enjoyable experience. Accommodation is unusual but extremely well presented. Owners only too happy to share their enthusiasm for the project. St Germans is a very pleasant village, somewhat off the beaten track, but very convenient for the train!

   We had a lovely week in Mevy. We stayed a few years ago & were pleased to return to the same great service & standard of hospitality. Liz & Dave clearly put a lot of effort & heart into maintaining these exquisite carriages & providing a comfortable stay for their guests; I don’t think there’s anything they’ve not thought of! We loved watching the trains come & go & also the swingball kept the kids entertained on many occasions. Lovely quiet location within easy reach of many great places to visit. Our children absolutely loved it & didn’t want to leave. We look forward to returning next year. Thank you again for a wonderful & comfortable stay.

   Just returned from my latest stay with railholiday. Have been visiting for many years and stayed in each of the carriages at St Germans. This trip was a return to Millpool with has one of best views overlooking the Cornish countryside. In all this time the holiday experience has been more than 5 star and Lizzy and Dave continue to be the perfect hosts - not intrusive but always there for help and advice. The carriages are always clean and cosy (even in January) and everything works! I plan on a second visit this year, so thanks for having me… ERIC G (Hertfordshire)

   Love it here. Lizzy was so helpful, offering to pick us up due to a train strike. 1 minute walk to the train station. We even had some homemade vegan chocolate flapjacks waiting for us. Stove was a bit tough to light Lovely restored van

   I have never had more pleasure in writing a review! My boyfriend & I were very fortunate to spend a week in the Travelling Post Office last week (came home on Friday 8th - review hasn’t shown up before now) & from start to finish, we were very impressed. :) The carriage was truly beautiful & it had been restored to a superior degree but still contained significant features which reminded you what it’s previous purpose was & the history you were walking & staying in. We very much appreciated the little touch with regards to the welcome pack that was left for us when we got to the carriage, including the lovely jute bag which we took home & I now plan to use. :) It was so lovely being a fence panel away from the railway station; it was a constant battle with who could get to the window first to see what train was stopping within the station & who could get a train driver to give tones from the back garden (which happened on our first evening!). It was also a convenience being a couple of minutes away from the platform meaning that we didn’t have to rush to get our planned trains each day when going out. Dave & Lizzy were such wonderful hosts & lovely people even though we didn’t see them much during our stay due to day trips. We can tell that Railholiday has a bright future ahead due to the passion & perseverance that has been shown throughout the years. Thank you Dave & Lizzy for a wonderful week; it was an honour to be able to spend a week in the Travelling Post Office. We will definitely be coming back (we have Mevy in mind!) :)

   Just had a perfect long weekend in the old TPO, which unfortunately we did have to cancel twice due to Covid. The carriage has been beautifully refurbished and is now very comfortable and the garden is a delight. The weather was just perfect, so apart from a few walks around the lovely village of St. Germans, we spent most of our stay at the TPO. We would love to visit again and may even get to do the woodland walk next time! Thank you Lizzy and Dave for making our stay so pleasant and for the very welcoming treats. Jackie, John and Buddy

   Wonderful accommodation, with much thought given to layout and an excellent welcome pack. Dave and Lizzy are delightful hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Don't miss the woodland walks. Ideally placed for leaving the car and taking the train into Plymouth or to any of the many places west and south.
