RG Law were outstanding from start to finish. Over the years, across multiple purchases and remortgages, Iβve dealt with a number of conveyancing firms, and RG Law β and Calvin in particular β have been the best by a very clear margin. Communication was consistently excellent, advice was clear and knowledgeable, and the whole process was handled with professionalism and care. Iβm extremely grateful for how smoothly and competently everything was managed and wouldnβt hesitate to recommend RG Law. I expect to be buying again in 2026 and would absolutely want Calvin acting for me again. Highly recommended.

I can see that this firm has many positive reviews, however this has not been my experience. I do not usually post reviews, but I feel I have no other option as I do not know who else to contact when my own solicitors ignore me. As a first-time buyer, I understand the process can be complex, but all I have asked for is simple, regular updates β even just to confirm what is done, what is outstanding, and what we are waiting on. Instead, I feel ignored and treated like an inconvenience, despite being the paying client. We have been in the conveyancing process since August, and as of today (17 December) we are still no closer to completion. I was informed that my source of funds required additional checks, which started at the beginning of November, yet these checks are still not satisfied with no clear explanation or timeline. The biggest issue is communication, specifically with my case worker Benjamin. Whenever I ask for an update, I either receive no response at all, or a brief email sent around 5pm, just before he finishes work, which does not answer my questions. At times it has taken weeks to get even basic information.Last Email Sent on 15th asking to reply with update yet still no responce They also fail to respond to the sellerβs sales progressor, despite me repeatedly asking them to do so. I clearly explained that I need completion by 20 December, and they confirmed they were working towards this date, yet with only days left, I still have no update on whether this is achievable or what is actually happening. Due lack of communication sellers unable to so completion due to not enough time given. I still dont know weather the mortgage is going ahead or no and with Christmas holidays next week this is highly unlikely to be completed.Leaves me and my family homeless pretty much without knowing what is going to happen. This experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I would not recommend this firm based on my experience.

We used Calvin Schafer and he went above and beyond with constant and clear communication through out our sale process. We have already asked if he can represent us for future sales. Highly recommend him.

Highly recommend this law firm who helped with my sale and purchase. Bethany was absolutely amazing and took all the stress out of our process, which had been very stressful and involved 2 previous firms. It is 100% worth it to pay a little bit more to get the quality RG Law provides. Bethany was so communicative, quick and always happy to help with my many queries. A big thank you to Bethany, Will, Ewan and George who all supported us.

Communication is key ! Buying a house is probably up there as one of the most stressful points, but with RG Law dealing with the purchase, I couldnt have asked for a better solicitor. Kimberley went above and beyond throughout the whole process, keeping us updated every step of the way. She kept our spirits high and managed our expectations brilliantly. I cannot thank Kimberley and her team enough for their expertise and professionalism. They were thorough throughout my case, and their in-depth knowledge gave me great confidence. They were also very responsive, which was incredibly reassuring during a stressful time. I was delighted with the positive experience and will defintely use them again in the future and have already recommended them to friends and colleagues.

Avoid If you are an overseas client, Highly incapable of handling conveyancing for international clients. They wasted a week of our time and had the audacity to charge us Β£300 for no work whatsoever

Excellent documentation support for my house acquisition! I have just purchased my first house in York using RG Law as conveyancing solicitors. I would like to give my big thanks to Ms. Faye Bishop for her thorough and diligent searches related to the acquisition of my house.

RG doesn't stand for really good. 3+ months into the sale between a first time buyer and no chain, still not clear on where we are, what's next, what the timings are, where the buyers solicitor is up to. Simply no comms. Not spoken to the solicitor at all during the process. Not a big fan of telephones I dont think. Spoke to the junior once but lack of clarity on where we were and what's next. Have received 14 calls on fraud protection as they very keen on protecting losses that impact their P&L. Less concerned about costs you may incur during the house sale going on and on. Sent the same docs multiple times, never ackowledged either receipt or the fact they are not very organised. Everything seems to run in a linear fashion and one step at a time. Buyers solicitor asking questions they could have asked weeks ago and should have been pressed to ask by RG Law given they know the detail regarding the property. It's an inefficient business and I am at a loss to how they make money, clearly take on too much at low prices. I would rather pay more and get decent service to be honest. You would think economic challenges, implications for mortgages, interest rates would pique their interest and push agreements to close but absolutely not. Ill update the review when this circus ends. If it ends, who knows.

Thanks Holly and Amanda for your ongoing support during a tricky completion in places. They remained professional throughout and kept persisting in managing difficult buyers solicitors. We had some post completion queries they helped to clear up for us too. We are now settling happily into our new home!

To be perfectly honest, it's much of a bittersweet experience. First of all, I'm relieved that the my solicitor is able to complete everything by the stamp duty deadline - which is amazing considering that I only have him for two months. However, it's important to note that he's been very difficult to reach (I tried emails and calls) and nobody ever updates you about the progress (and the portal is simply quite useless). The process is very stressful, and I still haven't received any proper explanation regarding why there is a miscommunication between the sellers solicitor and mine for two weeks (and I've no idea about that until I decided to give the estate agent a call instead). So long story short, if this is something common among all solicitors, then I don't see a huge problem because I did manage to get it done. However, you do have to pay lots of time and effort into nudging them, which can simply be a nerve wrecking experience.
