We had a lovely 5 night stay at Netherwood. It was a very peaceful site. The warden was very friendly and welcomed us on arrival. The toilet facilities were clean with a good electric shower. The children enjoyed the wee park and tree swing. We enjoyed walking along the canal path in to Chester.

We stayed at Netherwood in our small motorhome in October 2025. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and talked us through our stay. We were given a brilliant leaflet which included a great map of the local area. We were on a grass pitch close to the gate leading to the canal. In the centre of the pitches there is a shelter with very long hoses to fill your water, and an Elsen point. Waste water had to be taken from the pitch in a container which was fine. There are male and female toilets, each had 1 shower and 2 toilets. These weren't heated but they were very clean and tidy. The walk from the site into Chester was along the canal and took about 50 minutes. We would definitely go back to this site as it was small, very well looked after and very quiet. A great couple of days.

We stayed for four nights from 17th to 21st. Prior to arrival we had received great communication from Sally and Nikk with clear and very accurate instructions. On arrival we were first greeted by Sally who explained everything about the site and provided local information too. As we drove around to our pre-allocated pitch we were astounded by the very high standards to which the site was maintained. Our pitch (no 23) was absolutely perfect. After getting set up we met Kevin, the Warden, who advised us we were able to let the dogs run free on the tree lined field where he was situated. He was exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were fortunate that we only had one day of rain during our stay and despite it being torrential for m8st of the day and night both the pitch and surrounding grass area held up well due to the good drainage. We were very impressed to see Kevin's meticulous attention in caring for the site. Every day when people vacated their pitch he would ensure it was rolled over, thus was done both the grass and hardstanding pitches, as well blowing the stones off the grass back on to the hardstanding - amazing!! Everything has been carefully thought out. There is a slate roofed pergola in the centre of the sire with not only the Elsan, drinking water and doggy bin but even a long food grade hose pipe allowing motorhomes to fill up without leaving their pitches or even caravaners to refill their water barrels. We look forward to returning. Martin & Sue Critchley

The site is so spacious and green, as well as being in a great location - right on the canal, so lots to do. Some interesting, safe walks to nearby villages and Chester. It was great to stay in a site where plots were not squashed together giving a sense of space and privacy. Very peaceful and relaxing. I loved the flower meadow with its jaunty scarecrow guarding over it. The recreation area is an ideal play area for kids. The site boasts lots of good features including flowers in the bathroom, quality soap and lots of hot water. We would certainly go back again.

First time visit to this site and pleasantly surprised It is in a great location right on the canal and very close to Chester. I did paddle boarding on the canal both ways and that was great too We walked into Chester which took about 1 hour steady. You can also cycle along the canal into Chester in about 20 min Toilet and shower facilities were nice and well maintained The wardens Pete and Sharon were a lovely couple who made you feel at home They were very helpful and informative and came to introduce themselves at the earliest opportunity to see if all was ok and if you needed anything I would recommend this site

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of August and had an amazing time. Did the lovely walk along the canal into Chester. Must mention the really helpful warden who went out of his way to help us - pointed us to a great pub in the next village for food and who had great knowledge of the local area. Great facilities which were spotless

We loved our stay at Netherwood. It’s a beautiful, quiet site with spotless facilities and plenty of open space. The wardens were so friendly and helpful with plenty of local knowledge to share. The walk into Chester is really picturesque and the city itself is such a gorgeous place. There was plenty of choice of places to eat out within five minutes walk of the site. I hope we’ll be back!

This is a beautiful and peaceful site and an absolute gem. Perfectly located on the canal to explore the local villages and have fab walk into Chester. The facilities were always immaculate and the site was well kept. The highlight without a doubt were site wardens Pete and Sharon. Very friendly and couldn't help you enough with local knowledge and always came to see if you had a good day when you get back to site. They came to introduce themselves at the first opportunity they could when we arrived. They made our stay one of the best we've had and we were sad to leave. We've had an unbelievable two weeks in sleepy corner.
