I was using a different law firm before switching to Austin Kemp, and I was incredibly unhappy with them. When I decided that it was time to change firm, I started interviewing all the firms I could get an appointment with in a reasonable amount of time. I ended up speaking with Emma Birch, and she really gave me the impression of being highly experienced, highly logical, and she understood my situation straight away. I decided to go with Austin Kemp because of the way Emma Birch came across during the first call, and I wasn't disappointed. Emma guided me on how to deal with some proceedings I had pending (and were managed by the previous firm). Meanwhile, my ex's situation changed and we decided to go for a deed of separation before divorcing. Emma's work on the deed of separation has been great, and she delivered it quite quickly. She then guided me through my divorce application and proceedings, which also included a clean break consent order. As it turns out, Emma is pleasant and easy to talk to, she has a huge amount of experience, she is dedicated, she is intelligent, and she does her due diligence. I also like the fact that she tells you what she thinks, being straightforward really helps a lot. I haven't had much contact with other people at Austin Kemp, therefore I don't really have an opinion of the firm. I just know that Emma Birch (who works at Austin Kemp) has done a very good job in my case, and I can highly recommend her personally.
This company is very bad, they should not be trusted, one witness statement costed me £2,000 A review of the same witness statement they said cost over £8,000 They refused send the required evidences to the court, qnd i have to send my self, I lost my family court case beacuse they did not give me the apportunity to provided evidences to the court. The loyar refused me to explain my case to her, i traied to change the solicitor but the second solicitor was even worst . She continuesly send emails.in order to increase.the bill. Each email.they said cost £350. This means one witness statement costed me.over £10,000 yet i did not even get any professional support. Please never use this company they are very unprofessional all they entrested is money. Now i am going to make a claim against them.
I total agree with the negative comments, I got divorced 4 years ago and it cost me £20,000 Plus and came away with nothing apart from a big hole in my pocket and having to pay my Ex half of everything and only being married for 1 year, no back up from my side or no argument in court. The deal was done behind closed doors before we even entered the court room. Now I have just received a cost for £39.00 for an email?. no idea what for on the 14/02/24. A terrible firm to have on your side.
I engaged Austin Kemp a number of months ago & it is not one of my better decisions. We came second and their costs are horrendous. Just be aware that these folks don't come cheap. Pic is me when I realised just how much!!

Unprofessional staff and service. After the first solicitor suddenly left this firm at the beginning of my case, I was allocated a trainee solicitor without clearly telling me so to handle your case but keep claiming that she had over 10 years experience. Then nothing moved anywhere further but bills keep coming for all sorts of nonsense document work they do. Different solicitors jumping out from time to time reviewing my case without any constructive suggestion but trying to persuade me to withdraw my case instead of any suggestion to help fighting for my benefits. Of course all these work they do, including preparing for my bill are charged against me on the bill. Even after I clearly wrote to terminate the service, there were still people who I never heard of reviewing my case and charged on a bill to me. It took me more than 2 years paying for them to get no where at all on my case. I had to change the solicitor to start all over and sort the mess. Wish I never started with them.
If I could leave 0 stars I would. Terrible firm, simply out there to take advantage of the vulnerable. asked this firm to represent me and put together a bundle for a breach of a contact order. Wasn't made aware that they didn't put one together until I got to court and was told by external representation provided by chambers. They then decided to change by costs estimate when I made it clear from the offset that they would only get my case based on a their cost estimate, which they lied about. Avoid and go to a more reputable firm such as Irwin Mitchell, who I have also used and had excellent service.
I liked the personal attention that I got from everyone at Austin Kemp. My divorce situation was very difficult to deal with. Believe me, I know everyone's' family law situations are tough for them but mine was especially brutal because of the finance issues. Everybody at this firm took the time to make sure I got through it and I am happy with the child custody arrangement I ended up with. I cannot thank enough. I give five stars. Great!!!
