   It’s the old story. You’ve had your favourite furniture items for quite a while, and now they’re looking past their best. Given that you use them every day, you can justify spending some money on a remedy. But what to do? You look around at replacement options and find (i) you can’t see anything you like, and (ii) you’ll be given a vague delivery date weeks or months into the future. That was my situation with my ageing sofas. How about the re-upholstery option? I went down to John Miller Upholstery for a chat, and the way forward became clear. I get to keep my sofas, and they get a new lease of life with a lovely, modern fabric. After a few weeks of sterling work, my sofas were returned looking brilliant. Well done John and his team.

   So disappointed in the poor customer service, website is not clear on office opening times which is is very restricted to limited time on working days and oh, they don't tell you until you get the door the closed at 13.h00 on Friday and need an appointment to view fabrics. Also didn't return calls.

   We have 1 Armchair & 2 Settees which are oak framed, this having 5 cushions and 5 backs. The cushion fabric was totally worn out as the furniture was 45 years old. We decided on reupholstery, rather than buy new, and are glad that we used John Miller Upholstery. I write this after having the renewed upholstery for 5 years, and it's great. I was advised that the foam cushions were in good condition, but could benefit a small amount of padding. I'm so glad that we opted for this, as everything is as new. Not only was the work carried out under the pressure of COVID partial lockdowns but worked out far cheaper than the equivalent new furniture.

   Thank you to Jacqui, Lucy & and the whole team for transforming my tired and lifeless sofa & armchair. The one thing I found difficult was choosing a colour as their colour sample books are in abundance. So when my sofa & armchair were delivered back, it was a ‘wow’ moment. The work that had gone in to my sofa & armchair was just outstanding. Thank you again, will definitely recommend you. My photos don’t do it justice, as it is a much darker sage green velvet.

   John came today to repair a seat on our L shaped sofa. We had a dip where the metal supports had broken. He did a fantastic job, was friendly and the finish was perfect, as good as new! Contact was excellent and the lady who booked our appointment was friendly and efficient. Would certainly recommend John without hesitation

   My husband has converted his van into a camper and needed specialist seating made for both day time and night time use, it was complicated further as my husband has back problems so he needed something that would not aggrevate this problem further. John and Jacqui were attentive and helpful from start to finish advising us of the best foam and fabrics to use and design of the cushions to fit our requirements. Jacqui went above and beyond the call of duty by going through their extensive stock of fabrics to find one that fitted into the theme of our conversion. All communication was done over the phone, including the exchange of complicated measurements as we live in Cornwall. When they delivered the final product we were totally amazed, it was exactly what we wanted and the quality and standard of finish was outstanding and we always get a great night sleep! We will now be returning to them to make a sofa for our home as we know they will fulfil our requirements totally due to their personal and 'nothing is too much bother' approach. We would like to thank you again for making our dreams come true.

   Just prior to Christmas, John recovered our 2 and 3 seater sofa... he made such a lovely job, and also slightly remodelled the two sofas, making them look more stylish. From when we entered the shop, the lady who was the “front of house “was so nice and attentive, and pleasant to deal with . I would definitely recommend the company and couldn’t feel more happy with our sofa’s . Thank you once again

   This is our favourite sofa which we bought back in 1989. It's a proper beech frame and has stood up to loads of wear but finally needed recovering again. John Miller Upholstery did a fantastic high quality job at a very reasonable price. I found exactly the fabric I wanted from their samples (less expensive than a similar John Lewis fabric) and it was collected and finished in perfect time. John suggested a few tweaks to the sofa design, like getting rid of the old fashioned 'skirt' and replacing the castors with oak feet. Both excellent ideas which we are very happy with. Everyone very helpful and friendly, and delivery and collection deadly efficient. Highly recommended
