   I inherited an antique chair from my grandmother. It was an unusual shape, and desperately in need of reupholstering - the fabric was falling apart and the webbing was rotten. I called George for a quote. He asked me to email some photos, and gave me a quote in return. When I took the chair to him, he found some braid in his workshop which exactly matched the green in my fabric, and said it would take about two weeks. He called me only three days later to say it was ready to collect. He had done a beautiful job on it. The back is curved and upholstered front and back, and to add to the challenge, the top rail dips in the middle. George said he'd never seen another like it, but he handled all the problems expertly, and even waxed the frame for me. I am thilled with the result. It is lovely to sit on (approved by my cat!), and looks amazing. I would highly recommend George for any upholstery work.

   During the start of the pandemic in September 2020, I took 4 antique dining style chairs to George for upholstering. He offered me a cream fabric that matched the description of what I had in mind perfectly. When I collected the chairs, he kindly showed me how to wax a chair to bring out the colour of the wood encouraging me to maintain the beauty of the wood (rather than paint over it which I was considering), I'm so glad he recommended this. George did a fantastic job of the seat cushions, they are now comfortable to sit on and have lasted incredibly well. They look new even now over a year later. I know my Father's Godmother whose chairs they were would be incredibly happy with the job he did too. It's the first time I have ever had anything re-upholstered and George plus his partner made the whole experience a good one. I would highly recommended him and wish he had a shop near my Parents for their chairs too. Also, if you are lacking in confidence parking and pulling out onto the road in front of his shop, George will help you there too!

   We decided that our sofas were long overdue either replacement or some sort of intervention! A friend suggested, as we just wanted to replace the seat cushions, using a professional upholsterer. George at The Upholsterer in Pinner did not disappoint. Quality service, quick turnaround and you can see the results. Two sofas saved from landfill, saved huge costs replacing them, time and energy trying to find suitable new ones and we can also continue to enjoy our two sets of slipcovers when we fancy a change. Thank you George we are delighted!
