Booked a car for our wedding party asked them not to be late as we wanted to be there first Taxi turned up 20 minutes late driver couldn’t care less Terrible service Terrible attitude
Utterly diabolical. I ordered a taxi today to take me to a dental practice about a 4 minute ride away. I was in severe agony and had paid £88 in advance for the appointment which was non-refundable if i didn't get there on time. Thornhill Taxis said they would be at my home in Thornhill Lees to collect me for 1.10 pm and it got to 1.20pm and no sign of them, I phoned in a panic and was hung up on and left having to trouble and elderly neighbour to take me there, I am disgusted by the appalling diabolical way Thornhill Taxis AKA Nearby Taxis, treated me, completely unreliable, cannot be trusted and I feel like reporting them to the licensing authority. NOT happy at all. I made it abundantly clear this was an emergency and then i was put on hold supposedly whilst the female operator went to check on where the driver was and then she hung up. I am disgusted. These people are the worst most diabolical taxi company I have ever come across in my life. If you are in a hurry to get somewhere whatever you do, do NOT call this lot, they are useless. They operate from a scruffy unkempt office on The Town in Thornhill and it comes to something if they cannot get from there to Thornhill Lees on time. Steer clear. I begrudge awarding one star as a review they should allow ,minus 1 million stars as that would be more of an apt rating for this diabolically useless taxi company.
I had booked 2 days in advance a 4 seater and a 6 seater to take a party of 9 of us out to the black bull at Midgley from Thornhill both cars were 20 minutes late and the one I was in didn't know where he was going or tried to pull a fast one by going a very long way round until I told him which way to go. A Very disgraceful firm. I will never use them again and next time I will just take my own car as I don't really drink anyway.
Absolutely atrocious. We had a train booked for 5.45pm. We booked the taxi at 5.15pm. It takes 11 mins to get to the train station. At 5.20pm I called to chase the taxi as it hadn’t arrived. I was told he was on his way. I called again at 5.30 to be told he was 2 mins away. I called a third time and was told the same thing. The taxi turned up at 5.40pm but by then we had missed our train. We had to book an Uber. This firm used to be great when it was first established years ago but since the take over, the service is diabolical. Do not use. Stay away at all costs
Order a taxi with a big boot as mum is disabled and uses a wheelchair told them specifically that it can't be a mini bus proceeds to send 3 mini buses and then the starting price they upped to 5.oonand was very rude ended up waiting around hour and half
My taxi never showed up. When I rang the offices they where not much help either. Would not recommend this taxi service, it's unreliable.
Entered one of their vehicles with £240 cash on me stupidly had in my back pocket of Jean's 100% had in the car as paid for taxi! Walking across road felt back pocket felt empty realized I left the money in the car run back to the car shocked the driver who is still employed here and said I didn't leave anything heartbroken at the time didnt cover it gave the company another chance after avoiding for a good year and 1 of their driver made sexual offers/advances at me offering husbands to you unprofessional and should be shut down very worrying as my daughters get older they will not be using this company just a week ago had a taxi booked running later for work made me an additional 20 mins late due to him circling my street driving in circles was very disturbing to watch he looked loopy I informed the base as I walked there as he drove past me twice standing outside my house old guy with grey beard, taxis arrive late and when early for the booked times they try charge waiting time I deliberately refuse the drivers I've had bad experiences with and only use these in emergency situations or late commuting to work people would say what the hell do u still use them for due to not driving and working all the way in Leeds and needing to commute etc also with children when other firms are busy these are always available due to lack of custom!
Absolutely unprofessional. I called desperate to get a family member a taxi and the guy could hardly speak english. He then kept saying “2 seconds” and diverted me to a number that rings out for ages”. I called again and he put me on hold and did it again. I called again and he then used profound language and released the call. This was around 11pm last night. Absolutely ridiculous.
I was pleasantly surprised by the service I received. It's quite rare these days! I got a text before pick up with details of the car, and a thank you text after drop off. The driver was lovely. The trip actually cost me less then quoted. This makes me think that this firm is honest as well as professional.
