High five to Brixton British Heart Foundation and the bonnie Brixtonians who Donate to it. Recyle / re-use: Thank you to the sweety who, rather than throw out a WORKING, slick (looked almost brand new) slimline Dell keyboard into a rubbish bin, donated it to Brixton British Heart Foundation. I am using it and thoroughly enjoying it - thank you. (Oops, my last keyboard, I ... spilt Cava on it :( Do Donate: It's a crying shame that cool functional stuff is thrown out into bins - electricals wont degrade in landfills. I spent two painful years clearing out my family home in Edinburgh, and tried to donate as much as possible which could be resalable at charity shops (in particular the British Heart Foundation as my mother died of heart failure :( or gave suitable items to charities which supported homeless people entering new homes. But fair play, I appreciate charity shops have a max capacity that they can store / "shelf" space. Brixton British Heart Foundation Staff: I have always found them v helpful (they even tested the keyboard) and uber sweet (thank you). British Heart Foundation ebay store: I so hear the discontent on this. It's pants that one may see something cool in a BHF shop but it has been allocated for an e-bay sale (I've bitten my lip as I appreciate that the BHF wish to gain as much profit for their cause). Some Brixton Items not up for Charity Shops: In my shared forecourt I see so much stuff being dumped into our shared industrial sized waste bins which will go into landfill and not degrade. Electricals, if it's not up for being resold at Brixton British Heart Foundation then try discarding electricals at Brixton Currys. Clothes - At one time TK Maxx, H&M had clothes recycling bins not sure if they are still there. There our "clothes2 containers outside Tescos. On my way to Brixton Tesco, I look forward to my next Brixton BHF visit to see what gem I might discover. ps Goldstar to the persons who reply to BHF Google Review comments - that's always a great reflector of a "brand's" good engagement with customers.

Refused to collect a sofa in immaculate condition because it doesn’t “have legs” despite being a modern unit designed to be used without legs. The only requirement they stipulate when booking a collection is the fire label, which the sofa has. Trying to organise our flat for our new baby and thought we were doing a good thing donating to charity but turned out to be a complete waste of everyone’s time, especially when I booked two weeks in advance and waited at home on a bank holiday weekend. If the collection criteria is so strict, all possibilities of rejection should be clearly stated at the time of booking or you should ask to see a photo before agreeing to collect.

super confusing system - so all the nice items in store say ‘on eBay’. Saw a nice bench in store, went to search on eBay - nothing, bare in mind the ‘on eBay’ gives no reference number, information and the worst part is you can’t search by store location. Which is bonkers for a collection only item, you could be looking at something nice but it’s literally in Essex and no way to search. Anyway - went back again today and it’s all the same items, massively overpriced. I used to work in a furniture charity shop but there asking like 25 pounds for a magazine rack

I visited the Brixton store today and I seen a cabinet in the window. When I asked to look at it as I fell in love with it. There was a very rude lady behind desk shouted at the gentlemen in there and shouted 'ITS NOT FOR SEll!!!!! Even though this item had a price tag on it. For £79.99 I asked her why we couldn't buy it and she rudely said its for EBAY. I explained I wanted to take it now. And she said very rudley well it's company policy!!! When did you become a company as you are supposed to be a charity? This doesn't make sense as I fell in love with this cabinet and was going to pay and take straight in my car....Hence instant sell. I'm very disappointed about this cabinet as I wanted it but also very upset by the rude manner of the lady in the shop. I have donated loads of items to your charity...including a table which is in the shop at present, always give money when I can and also I have purchased most of my furniture from you. I actually feel like not supporting BHF anymore with this attitude. Also I've looked and trawled through Ebay and can't find it.

Following a kitchen renovation we had a perfectly good dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer in matching silver grey to donate. We booked a slot online for collection. We were told to expect a call to confirm. There was no call, no confirmation and no collection! I sold the items on EBay with hours and they were collected the next day. I’m considering making a charitable donation with my proceeds, but it won’t be to the BHF!

I haven't been there as such, but I have used their services to donate some furniture. They were very professional. I completed an online form and the day after I had a call confirming date and time of collection. So they are bringing their own men and van to pick up my things. Later on I had a confirmation by email.

Very unreasonable pricing. 100 pounds for a old, used and dirty dyson hoover. You won’t find any treasures here.

The staff could not be more lovely at this location. Samir, Michael and Mary were so helpful when we were looking for furniture - even putting together a couch and taking a photo so that we could see what it looked like. I have been to a few BHFs to look for secondhand furniture and I didn't think this store had as good a selection as some others, but that's about luck and what is donated on any given day.

The price is so wrong. Who ever decided what prices goes on item should do a bit of research. They forgotten its mostly secondhand item shop. The goods they have their are way way way over priced even identical items from original shop do not cost the same. After covid they just stick prices. Example a single mattress costs over £179 each??? Why would I coke hhwre when I have to pay delivery on top? Small mirror 40 years old and pulled and ugly costs 30. Come on..... I even new furniture's cost over the normal price at ORGINAL shop. I give charity to heart foundation monthly and give furniture's that I don't need. Surely there is management who needs to check up on this issue. I have Brixton is over stocked you can't even walk around freely. I wonder why that is. Please see the princesses they don't make sense for second hand shop

The staff are particularly helpful here, a special mention to Carol and another blonde lady who both times were so accommodating and friendly when I was the one being a bit of a pain and not considering my doorway to couch ratio properly! The stock in the shop is also a good mix and the turn over is quick so there seems to always be new stuff. Really overall happy experience
