Utter incompetence – worst insurance experience of my life Aviva Zero completely failed me from start to finish. This was a non-fault accident, yet I was treated like a burden rather than a customer. What should have taken a few weeks turned into over 10 weeks of chaos, delays, and total negligence. Aviva did not even send basic paperwork to CoPart, meaning the valuation of my car couldn’t begin. I only discovered this two months later after chasing it myself. So much for “we’re handling everything.” If I hadn’t intervened, this claim would probably still be going nowhere. Every phone call meant hours on hold, repeating the same story to different agents who clearly had no idea what was going on. I was constantly fed excuses and misinformation. No one took ownership. No one followed up. No one cared. Despite being 100% not at fault, Aviva deducted £100 excess and casually told me to chase the third party myself. Absolute joke. They also failed to properly manage the hire vehicle, which directly caused me to lose work and income as I rely on a suitable vehicle for my business. Their insulting £150 “compensation” barely covers the time I wasted on the phone, let alone the stress, anxiety, and financial impact. Aviva Zero is cheap for a reason. If you ever need to make a claim, be prepared to do their job for them.

I know, usually the people leaving a feedback when they have a bad experience, but honestly, I've had a great one. Someone has made a huge crash with dent on my car back door, and luckily he was a real gentleman, and he's left there his insurance details. The Aviva has sorted out in a couple of days. Thank you Aviva, and Aviva's customer service.

Had a really bad leak in my bathroom. I jumped thru hoops for the Aviva claims manager, with flood tests in my bath etc. Gave them my plumber’s quote to remove ruined flooring & put new floor down. Aviva offered me 3.4% of that cost!! 3.4%!!! Furthermore, they increased my premium from £200 to £300! I’m absolutely disgusted with the way we’ve been treated! The claims manager seemed massively incompetent, out of his depth & showed little or no compassion (my wife & I were both suffering from recent bereavements!). The guy was an unfeeling robot! Imagine if my claim was for a major issue to do with buildings or contents!!! Is this how penny-pinching they would be ?!?! DON’T USE AVIVA!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! There are much better insurance co’s.

Cadent gas did some work at my property. Their sub contractor damaged my driveway. I looked to claim on my home insurance, as a way to repair the damage. Yes I was covered. But the 1st company Aviva wanted to appoint for the insurance work... had a 1 star Google review. Comments were such as ' cowboys, avoid at all costs' The 2nd weren't much better. Aviva offered me poor advice. Basically left me to deal with half of the claim myself. Ie get a cash settlement for some of the work!!!! I shall be officially complaining to them, going forwards. If this is what we pay our insurance for, we may as well put the money aside, and sort it out ourselves, if we have to deal with an unfortunate incident.

Took out a car policy with Aviva, all fine, good communication, price and accessibility. Came to renewal time and they increased the premium by almost 50%! I get that they hook you in for your first policy, but I thought that increase was a bit rich. I usually call up my insurers to negotiate at renewal time, however no number, just the dreaded online chat. Took several minutes between responses, before a final, flippant 'that's the best we can do' response. Cancelled the renewal direct debit, went on a comparison site and now paying just 10% more than I did last year. I feel it is Aviva's loss, especially because I have 3 motor policies and 2 household insurance policies, all of which I was considering merging with 1 insurer, however Aviva have missed this opportunity and will never get it back again

Not honoring conditions of policy. I had a crash 2 weeks ago. My car is registered unroadworthy. It has still not been taken into the garage for repairs. I have still not received a courtesy car despite my policy saying I am entitled to one within 24 hours of the incident. It is not 2 weeks. I cannot get my son to nursery. I have to walk to and from work, I finished work at 10.45pm last night. They never contact me, trying to get through to them is very challenging and when I do I get no where. I actually do not know what I have paid for. Do NOT get your insurance with Aviva. Policy number: 602246829 (Fiona Linfield)

They insured my car for more than 5 years. I had no need to get in touch with them and I was happy with them. Recently my insurance was due for renewal, I didn't renew in time so they said I needed a new quote- that's fine and I accept I should have renewed on time. But when it comes to give a quote, they say that my car is not on the system and they cannot offer cover for the make and model of my car- even though they had insured it for more than 5 years. I thought customer loyalty meant something but it clearly doesn't mean anything to them

2 years now and still going through with a claim they’re trying not to pay, after a tv that they smashed in transit. This company is damaged. They will try their hardest not to pay out, even if they smash the goods up themselves!.It’s truly unbelievable what they’re trying to get away with. I’d advise anyone to look anywhere else, truly awful what they’re putting us through, it’s almost unbelievable, had to go through an ombudsmen, who’s findings have been completely with us, now they’re trying to go through another ombudsman, after paying a high end insurance for years, they are trying to get away with payout which is basically all their fault. Stay far away from this wretched company, it is of no use whatsoever, you’d be better off not being insured with anyone rather than with these, truly awful!!!!.

I recently had an unfortunate crash (my fault) needing me to reach out to Aviva for a claim. The whole process was so efficient and smooth end to end, and to top it off everyone was so pleasant and non judgemental especially as I had managed to write off my car and felt like a fool! I've usually only ever used the cheapest car insurance but when the time came where I actually did need to claim, they were awsome and made my life much easier.

I had a very competitive quote last September for my old Santa Fe, when I changed car in November I expected a sharp rise because it was worth twice as much but amazingly it was quite a bit less.
