Took our 3 grandchildren (12,11,& 8) to this restaurant for Sunday lunch. We received a friendly welcome and was quickly shown to our table. As it was a Sunday the place was moderately busy. Our designated waiter took over 25 mins to come over to our table. He was too busy clearing away glasses from other tables one by one???? He took our drinks order first and then our order. The queue at the servery wasn't too bad. The choice of roasts was good, usual fayre plus lamb. We had 4 adult & a child's carvery. The portions of meats put on the adult plates were pro rata the same as the child's portion. The beef & lamb were served in lumps as opposed to slices. The choice of vegetables was okay however clearly the spoons used to serve them were all mixed up. I know that this is down to the customers but no members of staff sorted it out. Some of the vegetables were undercooked whilst some were burnt. Our youngest had an accident with her drink. Our designated waiter walked past a few times before coming over to offer some assistance. He passed an unhelpful comment trying to be funny. It didn't help. In conclusion, the food was acceptable but not brilliant. The service was at best mediocre. I know it was busy but the attitude of this waiter left a lot to be desired.

We come every Wednesday and are always greeted by pleasant staff and our regular server Jane is always excellent. We came on the 29th November for my sister in laws birthday meal, a party of 22, it was our usual A1 server Jane's day off, but we were served by Cleo who worked very hard and was also excellent, she made our evening very enjoyable.

i booked a table the day before noting for the best table (if available) as i was celebrating my birthday meal. from the moment i arrived i was seated in the middle of the restaurant with my family, i then asked if we can move tables to an empty booth but then the waitress advised the booths were booked, but hadnβt i booked too? anyway, ate the carvery and i had asked for a takeout box for myself, my mom was still eating so she had seconds, the staff thought we was going to pack my moms and take it home and we was told we were only allowed 1 takeout box per table? we was spoken to with no respect from a certain waitress who herself, packed my sisters yorkshire wrap in the smallest box ever just so we couldnβt pack any anything else to take home - how ridiculous! we was constantly being watched, we felt so uncomfortable and felt like we couldnβt enjoy ourselves. she then came over and asked if we was done and i said yes but we want another waitress to do our bill, she then gave us a dirty look and told the other waitress that βtable 28β are going to pay at the bar. how rude? anyway i told the man at the bar the issues we experienced and he tried to make out that we was packing the second plate of food to take home!! i clearly stated my mom was still eating it but none of them understood, isnβt a carvery unlimited on the veg? they tried to say the veg is a second meal , so why wasnβt i charged extra for it then? never going here again, felt so disrespected, i feel like it was because me and my family were of colour because no one else seemed to be treated how we were. however food was nice as usual but never stepping foot in here again, some staff need to learn some manners.

Came here today after making a last minute booking. Very busy like every Toby Carvery on a Sunday. We arrived early so got a drink a drink at the bar. Service quite slow. People had also been eating at the bar tables and there were dirty plates on most of the tables. The plates were left for ages, meaning that customers were moving them so that they had somewhere to sit. We were called to our table and joined the queue straight away as the queue was huge! The queue took around 15 mins to get served. Great choice of meat (gammon, pork, turkey, beef and lamb) and a good selection of veggies and potatoes which were replenished often so there was plenty to choose from. All food was hot and the Yorkshire puddings were huge!! We really enjoyed our food and our waitress was lovely. We also ordered a couple of puddings (cookie dough brownie and kids ice cream). Overall, one of the better Toby Carvery restaurants that I've been to and would visit again.

Took advantage of the 50% off offer on the 18/2/23. Really pleased with everything, food was lovely, pork Gammon Turkey and Beef available. Everything was tasty, fresh and hot! The staff were fab, so organised and efficient, Isabella was great, so pleasant and friendly, but very good at her job. We will definitely be back, discount or not !

This is certainly a great place for families to enjoy a meal together. The food is good, but not exceptional. I found the service a bit lagging. The people carving the meat weren't too helpful either. But then this doesn't get in the way of enjoying a nice meal with friends or family.

Use this Toby on a regular basis for breakfast with work colleagues it offers good value for money in a relaxed atmosphere. Usually a good selection of items on the self service menu and if anything is missing it is replaced quickly when requested. If you do visit remember to enter your registration number if using the car park it is camera controlled.

Everything was wonderful, but a bit chilly, our table was positioned under an air conditioning outlet as was an adjacent table. Despite two requests from the adjacent table, it was left on as was. If it had been extremely busy or a warm day then it would have been necessary, but not during December. While some drinks were not available due to delayed deliveries, there was still sufficient choice of alternatives. However, the food service was excellent as always, the carvery chef being professional and polite, chatting as he served to help relax and make customers feel very welcome. Generous portions for everyone, the meat being tender, plus a good selection of vegetables to fill your plate as you wished. All being hot and cooked to perfection. Table service was quick, as at first the premises were quiet, but even when busy later, service level was still good. We never felt rushed over our meals and we could converse without raising our voices as there was no loud and intrusive (so called) music being played to annoy us. A true positive⦠All our party do recommend the Toby Broadway for a visit and we felt both welcome and that the staff cared about the service too. Thank you to all for an excellent meal.
