I visited them for an early pregnancy scan. On arrival the clinic looked clean and nice. But when we went in for scan. The sonographer was very cold in nature. After the scan it was not a positive news and we were referred to EPU. The lady did provide us with a report but not any pictures. When we went to EPU the results were different than what she saw. The EPU midwife was also concerned about them stating the results without even having a follow up scan which is a standard procedure before announcing the viability of the pregnancy. Later I called the clinic to ask if I can somehow get some pictures for comparison. The receptionist said she will email as her colleague was out of office. I have been chasing it for two days now, haven’t received my pictures. I wish I had read the comments before visiting as everyone has the same issue. Wouldn’t recommend them too anyone.

I attended this clinic for an early pregnancy scan, and left feeling quite nervous, which wasn’t what I had hoped for. As It was an early pregnancy, the sonographer took an extremely brief look, made a comment about needing to come back next week, and that was that. At the till the lady was surprised that we wanted the ultrasound photos ‘it’s so early, you can’t see much’. All in all, this experience made my pregnancy feel unimportant. I then went to an alternative place in Raynes Park, where the experience was far far better. My recommendation is to read some reviews to find alternative places to get your ultrasounds done.

After a previous miscarriage, we booked in an 8 week scan for a subsequent pregnancy. I was disappointed by our experience here. The scanning equipment was low quality and the sonographer seemed fairly inexperienced, rushed and not hugely confident. If we had bad news, I would not have trusted her to deliver it fully or sensitively. This is a place to go if you’ve already had higher quality NHS scans (yes their equipment is better) and have no concerns about your pregnancy. If you are looking to get proper reassurance on your pregnancy, ask your GP to refer to the Early Pregnancy Unit at West Middlesex Hospital or your local hospital. Their equipment is fantastic, and staff superbly skilled at diagnosing and communicating early pregnancy progression and potential issues.

The clinic was closed when I turned up for my 16 week pregnancy reassurance ultrasound. Standing outside in the cold, I called their head office number only to be told there was no record of my booking. I forwarded my appointment reminder email and deposit receipt. The lady called me back and advised it was a website glitch in the booking system (I booked well in advance via their website) and they would be looking into it. They refunded my deposit and offered me a 10% discount should I wish to book again, but safe to say I will be going with a different provider.

Went for an early ultrasound. Baby was measuring extremely small for dates and the sonographer could not explain the possible reasons. She just said I needed to come back which left me feeling anxious. I asked for potential differential diagnoses eg potential miscarriage or other things and she would not give me any clinical indication of what might be going on, just that I needed to come back. I said I understood that I needed another scan for a conclusive answer, but still expected an explanation of the possible clinical outcomes. I went to the NHS EPU who were provided much more clarity and possible meaning for the findings before they invited me back for another scan. Unfortunately it was not good news but I appreciated having been prepared with the information I needed and would have benefitted with that information the first time round. I since called head office and explained what happened. I was told I couldnt be provided with the differential diagnoses during the appointment because it goes against the NICE guidelines. As a HCPC registered professional myself, this didnt sound right. I am always able to explain to my patients the possible clinical outcomes but caveat that we wont know for sure until XYZ investigations. I have since read the NICE guidelines for early US for sonographers in pregnancy and have spoken to a sonographer myself, and essentially I was given poor care and communication. Even common sense would indicate that if they can say everything looks good during a scan the opposite should also be true, that they can indicate things may not be looking good. I would like to see them explain things with more clarity to patients in future to provide women with the information they need to leave feeling informed and dignified. Less time should be spent selling gender reveal trinkets and more focus needs to be spent on training in communication.
