   For many years I had pain in my right knee, developed a limp resulting in hip pain and struggled with walking long distances and standing for any length of time. I was referred to Mr. Imbuldeniya's team at West Middlesex Hospital . The surgery and possible outcomes was explained very clearly at my outpatient appointment . I then attended an appointment where the physiotherapy team provided more information and taught exercises to do before and after surgery. I had my surgery under a spinal block, then went to the ward. Was very well looked after by theatre and ward staff. The next morning I had an Xray and a session with the physio to learn how to walk with crutches. I was home later that afternoon, carried on with exercises at home and 8 weeks later was back at work. That was a year ago and I can now walk many miles without pain, have no limp and no hip pain at all. I am so happy with my results. I highly recommend Mr, Imbuldeniya and the rest of the team and cannot thank them enough for my much improved quality of life.

   I had my surgery for a total left hip replacement at west Middlesex hospital on the 5th August 2020. Arjuna was my surgeon and looked after me with his team from day 1. I was the first day surgery case patient for a total hip replacement at the hospital (which is exploring new ways of working given the Covid environment backdrop). My personal experience with the team at west Middlesex has been fantastic and I would highly recommend these guys to anyone looking for a great unit and indeed a great surgeon / consultant for surgery. The initial consultation for sign off for surgery, the pre - operative assessment and talking through the surgery procedure were all carried out with a high level of due care and clinical excellence. I felt as a patient that the over riding priority was achieving a great clinical outcome for me and my surgery. The day of the surgery was very well co ordinated and went smoothly. Admission was straightforward, I was administered local Anaesthetic and the surgery took around 2 hours. I arrived at 7.30am and was discharged around 7pm the same day. Just brilliant. Since discharge I have been in constant contact with Arjuna and the team and the physio unit. I have also had two follow up appointments where Arjuna has held office himself directly. I am now nearly 7 weeks post surgery and progressing well and will be back to see In 3 months time for an assessment and x ray on the new joint. Thank you to Arjuna and the whole west Middlesex team for their care and passion. They have cleverly demonstrated the high value of keeping these important services local.
