Attended the Endoscopy Unit with my father for a procedure the reception staff were very pleasant, in particular Lorna was most helpful and went above and beyond to keep me advised and informed in relation to my father recovery! . 11/10 Excellent customer service.

From the moment he came to my bedside, he was calm, compassionate, and completely reassuring at a time when I was genuinely frightened and extremely unwell. Ajith treated me with real respect and humanity. He explained everything clearly, checked on me constantly, and made sure I was never left in pain or uncertainty. His professionalism was matched only by how genuinely caring he was — nothing ever felt rushed or ignored. In a situation that could have become critical, Ajith made me feel safe, supported, and looked after. He is a credit to the hospital and the NHS, and I’m truly grateful for how he handled my care. I’ve had the good fortune to be taken to Croydon University Hospital around 03:00 am. on Wednesday 5th November for blood test. The chest pain I had was caused by my heart, I was told. Heart attack?! For the next seven days I’ve had the best attention and the most polite care I could imagine. The food was far superior than in 2017 when I went through a similar experience in the hospital. My heartfelt thanks to everyone taking care of me, I’m truly grateful.
The basic requirement to provide a health service was covered. However the standard of this service was very poor. Most of the time staff did not have much of an idea as to the needs of the patients. Regularly deliberately ignoring them and leaving them unattended, unless a doctor or senior was in the area. Some of the staff were very hard working, but without communication coordination the frustrations were often on display.
I have 2 experiences in this hospital. My son was born there when it was still May Day, and everything was outstanding, from the facilities to the attention we received from the nursing staff and doctors. Second time, my wife was seriously ill and things did not go so well. Nursing staff was fantastic, but the doctors were a shambles. They really did not care much about the patient, a little arrogant and quite lazy, in my opinion. Made her suffer unnecessarily, and eventually was transferred for surgery to East Surrey, were more competent doctors were in charge. We made sure since then that we do not go to Croydon University Hospital, we don't even call an ambulance in case they decide to take us there as it is the closest to where we live, we use our car instead.
Absolut nightmare ! Came in twice this weekend for my Son . Last night We arrived around 1-2 am at the hospital via Ambulance we came home around 8-9 am. We sat all night in the A&e only saw the Nurse at the beginning , after a few hours waiting i ask the receptionist how long it will be to see a doctor she was so rude !!! After getting a Response people are waiting for 8 h already and it can’t be so bad because i can see your Son running around! These people need to work on their behaviour towards scared and worried Mom and Dads !! And then we finally got to see a Doctor he was amazing very good Bedside manner’s he could teach the other staff how to talk and behaviour towards a mother or Father!!! Big thank you to the Amazing Doctors and Nurses and the Ambulance Crew but the rest no words !!!
I have been to the phlebotomy clinic twice in the space of 3 months for a fasting blood test. Not had a bad experience here and the staff are very friendly. I would advise people to ring the department and make an appointment - on both occasions I walked straight in without sitting in the waiting room. It appears from other reviews that taking a ticket and waiting is by far the longest way of getting your blood taken.
