Firstly, I would like to thank the NHS for performing surgery on my brother for a sarcoma tumour in his stomach life saving surgery. Having spent time in intensive care and then moved to a general ward, this in itself is where it shows the NHS under severe pressure. We as a family felt my brother was receiving the best care. We made the decision to transfer him to the private section of the hospital to receive the care he needed to recover. It was the v best decision we made. I would personally like to thank Dr Shanker for arranging this surgery to help my brother. I would also like to thank “Brittany” in the admin department taking control and being very helpful in the process of transferring my brother. He is now feeling the best treatment to aid his recovery.

Absolute shambles of a hospital. One good nurse (Iza) and excellent consultants but a total lack of communication between nurses and lack of knowledge means they’ve sent a post op patient home with just laxatives to manage the pain. They are useless at trying to sort it to and have asked to speak to managers but they are all too busy to care about the patient in pain! Didn’t even offer me food and I had to ask for it. Would not use this private hospital if you have a choice

I have just stayed overnight at the Royal Free Private Patients ward after having a post cancer asymmetry breast procedure. The staff have all been so friendly and welcoming from the moment of my admission to the moment of my departure - a special should out to Rahel and Raymond who were more like family than staff. The food was excellent which was a bonus!

The care I received was very good. I would like to highlight the following individuals who went over and beyond; Deana, Meryil, Yvette, Astalika (polish lady) and Raymond. All very gentle with their care and an absolute pleasure to be around. They made everything so much more easier to accept and deal with. Catering staff were all fabulous especially Lorraine, who was very obliging.

I have bee a patient for nearly a month in the private wing. During this time I have experienced nothing but warmth, kindness, caring and sincerity from all the staff at all levels. It has been one of the most touching experiences of my long life. My most sincere thanks to everyone for helping me on my recovery. It would not have been possible without you all there with your love and dedication. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Ridiculous hospital which makes patients wait for endless hours, definitely more than 10hours when there're not that many people waiting to be seen. Nurse altitude is extremely rude. She asked patients to wait as long as they like and complain to MP. What the hell!!! If I can opt out my NHS contribution, for 130%sure I will! NHS made me feel living in London is worse than living in 3rd world .

Booked a consultation with one of their cardiologists who referred me for tests and it's taken a month and constant emails to get them to look at the results and decide they want a followup appointment before writing a letter. Their admin staff are awful.

When you want to admit someone to private side of royal free (and insurance have agreed), they bring out some unwilling staff. The woman who met us to help with admissions said to go back to the NHS and said “the NHS wait times are shorter”. Be that as it may, given that they share facilities, it is the lack of manners and that the staff really don’t want to serve you. The person I wanted to admit also came from abroad so they wanted the private side and the staff really had an issue..they even said “it’s 5pm I don’t know who’s around to help” despite being open! And they said they won’t know how long it takes to find a bed- which is fair except for the fact that I just heard someone else say just minutes earlier that they had a few for emergencies (which was the case for the person I wanted to admit). The consultant we spoke to didn’t even say I’ll check and see if your case qualifies for one or anything! Anyway we left and went to Princess Grace - 1000% better experience and tears of joy came instead of tears of frustration! Royal free has really gone down and it’s a real shame!

In constant pain after surgery and the pain management isn't sufficient. When I call on the buzzer it takes at least an hour for a nurse to come during the night shift. Tonight its taken 3 hours and no show. Might as well suffer at home then suffer here

Extremely happy with my experience. The Royal Free itself is an example of a friendly welcoming hospital, not just the private part but also the public part of the hospital. From the moment I stepped in the door I was guided by a lovely nurse when I looked lost. The experience with the friendly consultant, technicians and nurses will always be remembered. Thank you for making it so much more less stressful and well done in achieving something special for patients in these hard times.
