Why don’t they let AI look at the results and prescribe. I had access to my results on line and I put it into AI whilst in the waiting room - it told me instantly that what I was being tested for I didn’t have. Time wasting, empty space, Drs doing admin rather than seeing patients. After arriving at 1pm, bloods at 3:30pm, Xray at 4:30pm then told I would be seen quicker in same day emergencies but left for hours in pain! In total I had to wait 8hrs for blood test results when I just needed antibiotics. I wouldn’t have gone but my dr told me I had to because of the medication. I was on. I kept saying my children were home alone because I hadn’t expected to be there but they didn’t care. I got home eventually at 9:30pm. Shocking, ridiculous and frankly no care from this service.

I would leave half a star if I could. The staff lie to you. If you have any kind of life threatening illness good luck. An 5 hour wait in a&e only to be told its an 8 hour wait. For what reason. A serious investigation is needed in to this hospital. An absolute disgrace

This hospital is an absolute disgrace to the NHS My partner was taken there by the emergency services including HEMS last Sunday pm to the resuscitation unit. A Doctor from the unit told me that he would have another blood transfusion at 3pm (this was at 2pm) and they would discharge him at 10pm!!!!!! I broke down due to the trauma experienced since 8am when he first became ill as I knew he wouldn’t be able to manage stairs or cope at home. The Doctor was nasty and rude said”what was it about stairs” and out of all the patients in the hospital he was the least likely to have a heart attack. He was moved to majors about 5pm without a transfusion which was done about 7pm No one updated me or advised that a decision had been made to admit him which caused unnecessary anxiety until after 11pm He was admitted to a ward about 5am However he was then moved on Monday evening about 10pm having been woken up and moved to geriatrics . My partner is not geriatric and has complete use of his cognitive abilities. He called in the morning as he stated he was frightened due to a patient in the next bed fighting with staff and punching the door at the end of his bed despite being guarded by a nurse all night .When I arrived at the hospital he was being continually followed by a female nurse as he rambled aggressively swearing and moving in and out of the ward along the corridor I recognised him from Majors where he had 2 security guards monitoring him the there all night. Whilst the nurse went to lunch the ward nurse took over watching him and blocked his exit to the corridor. He then threatened and physically assaulted the nurse, I had to intervene to stop him. No one who is seriously ill should be subjected to this awful standard of care and personal risk making them afraid to be on the ward. This is a matter of safeguarding and risk assessment which is not being met I have had to bring my partner home when he should have stayed until he was in a more stable condition. I have had unnecessary worry and no support whilst trying to nurse him at home The Doctors do NOT Communicate effectively and do not update on the patients condition I would be terrified to be admitted to this uncaring, unprofessional and not fit for purpose hospital

I arrived at A&E at 17:00, and it is now almost 04:00 AM. I am still here with no proper triage, no updates, and no explanation. It is unacceptable for a patient with heart failure, cardiomegaly, very low blood pressure, severe fluid retention, and a recent collapse with loss of consciousness to be left waiting for almost 11 hours. This is not the level of care expected from a department called “Emergency”. Please explain how such a delay is justified for a high-risk cardiac patient. People don’t come to A&E for comfort, they come because they fear for their life.

Up to and including the day of my operation in March 2025 I was well looked after and could not fault my treatment but the aftercare was literally non existent. My release papers said I had to have a check up after 4 weeks and my surgeon told me he would see me after 4 weeks to check everything was ok. After 5 weeks I had not heard anything so called the hospital but could not get through for a few days. When I did get though my 4 week post op check up with my surgeon was arranged for ----June 2026, 15 months after the operation. They did not even call me after the op to make sure I was ok.

I had a great experience yesterday. I went to the A&E and was sent within 10 min to be assessed by a nurse and have an x-ray taken. I waited roughly 20 min for both things. Once diagnosed, I was sent to get a plaster, for which I had to wait 15 min. All the staff was incredible and efficient. Big shoutout to them.

Every time I go to this hospital it's a very bad experience. I was admitted and caught the CMV virus from their inability to shield a patient or use basic hygiene and they caused induced liver and gallbladder and blood clot damage plus nerve damage and they seriously damaged my spine. They threw me out of the ambulance and made me walk with a serious spine infection and kept stopping my antibiotics after negligently sending me home with a serious spine infection. 6 weeks treatment turned into months in hospital because of their negligence and irreparable spine damage. Two drs one bone Dr and a rumo dr still haven't responded to gp for months so my spine is getting more permanent damage with trips back and forth to a&e. Pals ignore complaints. Negligent on all levels. Get left on trolleys and drs breach data pro and discuss you in front of other patients. No drs all night as we all lay on trolleys in hallways and drs rolled in at 8am all giggling and chit chatting at the nurses station. Elderly treated very poorly. It's a long list

It was a best experience because of the great team. The whole hospital team was so concerned and supportive at every point of treatment. They treated me very professionally. So, well organised from start to finish. Staff was so friendly & reassuring. Excellent facilities & a really personal service provided.

The post code on Google for this Hospital is correct, it will take you right to the hospital. It's a decent hospital. Not particularly different from other NHS owned hospitals. Parking here is tricky. It is paid parking, the cameras catch you as you drive in, so you may likely get a parking fine sent through the mail you you don't pay for parking. Free parking: best bet is to look for free street parking around the hospital then walk few minutes to the hospital. Or you may get a free parking for a short time if you park in the Derwent centre private car park inside the hospital, although it has a barricade. But if you talk your way into it. Then you get yourself a free parking for few hours.
