I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience. Unfortunately, my recent visit to surgery was very disappointing. The reception staff were unhelpful and dismissive — I was made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a patient seeking care. Communication was poor, and I found it difficult to get clear information or support. The overall attitude from the front desk gave the impression that patient wellbeing wasn’t a priority. It’s a shame, because the medical professionals themselves may be competent, but the first point of contact leaves a lasting negative impression. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and provides better training in communication and patient care.
Dr Farquhar was very attentive and thorough, suggesting an X-ray to identify a possible back problem, recommended a support for tennis elbow and gave helpful advice about my lifestyle! Great service - thank you!
I recently had a blood test with HCA Aisha and felt uncomfortable with how the interaction went. I’m 55 and a regular outpatient at Hillingdon Hospital, so I’m familiar with the blood test process. However, from the moment I entered the room, Aisha’s tone felt more like scolding than guidance. She directed me to a specific chair, even though I was just about to place my coat on the other empty chair. Before I could do so, she insisted that I couldn’t hold my things during the test and went on at length about how to sit and what to do. She then asked me to twist my arm in an unusual way and hold it there. I tried to explain that I found this position uncomfortable, but she kept repeating instructions and explaining why it had to be done her way. Her tone and body language made me feel as though she was annoyed with me, which was discouraging, especially given that I was there due to my GP’s recommendation to discuss low mood. I left feeling disappointed. I understand the need to give clear instructions for blood tests, but a gentler, more patient approach would have made a big difference. Please take a break, don’t take it out on patients. I will do my best to avoid seeing her again. Thankfully the doctor was really nice and helpful.
I would have given 10 stars to Oakland Medical Centre if I could. I had a brilliant experience at the contraceptive division from reception to the minute I left the centre. I can’t thank the nurses enough, they were absolutely brilliant. They were so attentive and gentle; walked me through every detail of a small procedure that I was quite worried about. I am so relieved and so pleased. Thank you so much!
Very kind staff. The nurse I had, Donna, removed my implant, spoke me through what was happening and I felt a lot better. She talked me through my contraceptive options at the end. Overall good & painless
I just wanted to share the excellent service i got from Ann Tregear at Oakland medical centre. I needed a prescription urgently which was emailed from the hospital. She dealt with it calmly and efficiently even though I was inpatient. I called the surgery at 10am and the prescription was at the pharmacy by 1pm. Thank you
This place is a joke, and my experience with them is 100% not a positive one. Was booked in for an appointment today, after being refused treatment by another clinic in Harrow as I don't live there. The receptionist called to cancel my appointment at the last minute, which I found to be totally ridiculous as just yesterday afternoon I was phoned to be told the appointment would carry on today. Such a total waste of my time, energy and money. I agree with the people on here whom have had the same experience. Totally unpleasant staff, unprofessional, rude and very judgemental in the reason as to why one needs an appointment. The questions I was asked before my appointment was booked were very highly private and had nothing to do with the reason why I was booking the appointment. I felt very degraded and uncomfortable by the nurse who offered me the telephone consultation in the manner that she was asking me the questions. I would not want to ever go there nor use their services nor wish someone else to go through what I went through. The staff there need retraining and need to learn how to be courteous and polite and more importantly, human. Which clearly at the moment they're not
Awful, sub-standard, and ricidulous. This surgery should be closed as it does not meet the standard expected for an expensive borough such as Hillingdon. It does not meet neither the patient needs nor serve the community properly. It is very badly managed and the staff are breathtakingly rude. I spoke to the Asian lady (medium built) at reception and she was rude! phew! patronising and self deserving. She was trying to convince me to accept that transfer of medical records from on practice to another can take up to one year! and telling me that I did not understand how computers work. I laughed. Couldnt believe it as I work with computers.
Never wrote a review on Google but this clinic deserves it. Have called this Medical Centre for the last 3 months to get an appointment. Every time they are or full booked or not willing to take any patients as they are saying we are full booked. No way to get any consultation!!! Like none, what I heard is call us in 2-3weeks. If there is someone who can check this Medical Centre for professionalism please do! Absolutely not caring about patients. What they do is just hang out the phone. Terrible service.
