I put one star because I had to in order to leave a review. Best thing they did for me was send me to the Ashford overspill clinic..The whole structure at Shepperton medical Centre needs to be addressed it is nothing short of shambolic...And if there is a proper doctor in that surgery please step forward...

My husband got an appointment for our 8-year-old daughter this morning. After school, at 3:45, when we arrived, the woman at the reception said they lost our appointment for some reason. And it wasn't her who did it, but her colleague. How is that possible? I arrived with my baby 2-year-old. I can't go back and forth. And she told me they lost the appointment and to come back in an hour! I'm outraged. How can there be such service? The worst GP in Surrey. Disgusting!

I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting consultation with Dr. Parthiepan Visvaratnam at Shepperton Medical Practice today. From the very start, he was dismissive, rude, and showed no empathy towards my concerns. I had abnormal blood test results earlier this year and was advised to repeat them after six months. When I finally managed to get an appointment to discuss my concerns, Dr. Visvaratnam refused to request the tests I asked for, questioned my lifestyle choices in a disrespectful way, and even suggested I was suffering from “health anxiety” rather than listening carefully to what I was explaining. Instead of a supportive discussion, the consultation turned into an unnecessary debate driven by his defensiveness, insecurities and lack of patience. As a doctor myself, I know exactly what I was asking for, yet I was met with arrogance rather than understanding. He even refused to check my blood pressure despite me clearly mentioning my history of hypotension. He started questioning me and my knowledge about various aspects. This lack of basic care and compassion is unacceptable from any doctor. What made this experience even worse was his attitude towards the NHS itself; stating that tests shouldn’t be done because of money and “system pressure.” Patients should never be made to feel like they are a burden, especially when they come forward with legitimate health concerns. After waiting so long for this appointment, I left feeling emotionally drained, unheard, and deeply disrespected. This is not how patients should be treated. NHS practices must take greater responsibility in ensuring their doctors have both the medical knowledge and, most importantly, the empathy to treat patients with dignity and respect. I strongly advise anyone referred to this doctor to be cautious; this was one of the worst medical experiences I’ve ever had. Get your insecurities sorted Mr Parthiepan Visvaratnam.

I have had about 7 emails, reminding me of my pharmacist appointment. I'm calling this a bit of an overkill. Some people still have diaries noted on calendars, and on their Google watches, one was to remind me this morning. It was in the diary. I'm not stupid, miss a e.Powell

Cannot get past mouthy, unhelpful receptionists who act like gatekeepers to the doctors who just hide in the office seeing as little amount of people as possible. Even with an emergency referral, you cannot even get a call from a GP. Just told to call back in the morning, even if it's not possible. Receptionists just repeat the same statements over and over. The receptionists should just be sacked and replaced with people who actually give a damn about the people they are employed to help. Even in person when you approach the reception, you are made to feel like you are imposing on the receptionists day and you're inconveniencing them somehow. You can just tell in their tone of voice that they are completely disinterested in helping patients. Only interested in nattering to one another or playing candy crush on their phones. Plenty of locals have complained about the rude receptionists. I am not the only one.

Rubbish. You can't get an appointment. I've been with them for nearly twenty years and have seen a steady decline in service. We're now at a point where phones don't get answered, the surgery looks rundown and it's virtually impossible to get an appointment.

usually have nothing bad to say about SMP but unfortunately had a very bad experience today. Lynn was lovely and helpful on the phone, she asked me to come in to speak to her & the head doctor about a medication, but when I came in I was turned away by reception saying I didn’t have an appointment (which I was told I did) and that Lynn was “wrong to send me in”, different receptionist at front desk was incredibly rude and dismissive and made me feel like I was incompetent for following an order I was given, making faces at me when I was very polite and patient with her. I will add that I’ve reviewed before saying how amazing the practice is and that I had a great experience with reception a year ago, so it’s a shame it’s gone downhill reception staff wise. (also, does anyone know if not being able to book appointments on the website is temporary or permanent? It seemed to be a much easier system)

I've had nothing but the best service from shepperton medical practice, the receptionists, and doctors, nurses, have shown kindness, understanding, and do there best to accommodate my needs. Having gone through cancer, I've found how wonderful the staff are, they try their best, to help all patients,. Makes me sad to read the awful reviews, remember they are also human.....show respect, to our amazing team at shepperton medical practice...

Shocking, unreliable, mistake driven doctors and back office. I was wrongly diagnosed with Arrhythmia by the part time doctor I am registered with here. I accepted the error from the doctor after her eventual apology, even though it changed mine and my families life with the shocking news, until St. Peters ran a series of complex time consuming tests to deduce that it was indeed an incorrect diagnosis from my doctor in Shepperton Medical Practice. So much time and money lost from my own consultancy work, plus enormous positive energy lost in those stressful and unforgettable times when I thought my life was at sudden risk from impending heart failure. I will never forget what it's like to break that news to my own children and others close to me. It's October 2022, and I'm getting awful unreliable service all over again, although it's fair to say it is unrelated to above. I haven't got the time or the inclination to go into detail, yet it's another reminder how bad this practice really is? They say "practice makes perfect" Not as far as Shepperton Medical Practice is concerned, are what my experiences leads me to believe? If you are reading this and aren't yet registered in this practice or have options to use another medical practitioners or doctors, please consider your options elsewhere? One * star was the lowest I could leave via Google. I would rate this far lower if I could.
