I booked GP expecting a smooth and efficient cleaning service, but the experience was extremely disappointing. The biggest issue was the long waiting time β I had to wait far beyond the scheduled appointment window with no clear updates or communication. It completely threw off my day and the service was not good at allβ¦

The stakes are high, I'm their patient and a GP. I've been a patient of the Ridgeway Surgery for decades. The quality of care and access, for those who need it, are great. The Ridgeway have me for good! Dr David Lloyd and all his colleagues have left a lasting legacy, now also carried forward in the current generation of GPs. You're valued. Thank you.

I have been with Ridgeway surgery for years and was the best surgery run by Dr Loydd so much patient care. Now the surgery is so appalling the worst itβs ever been Firstly the patient not cared by the reception staff deal with you so abruptly ! The patches system is awful you wait when the patches is open and straight it already full ! On Monday I phoned as was very unwell the phone would go to waiting and then just disconnect me 4 times I tried , Eventually I had to call 111 who dealt so affectionally made me an appointment at ridgeway surgery with doctor Doshi who was wonderful she told me you need to immediately go hospital for further test! I have to see her on Thursday as she told me to see her with the results of the hospital . Now that will be another mission !to get that appointment Why has this surgery become like this !

I have been calling the surgery from past 2 days and couldn't book an appointment because they have introduced a new weird rule that they are now booking same day appointments only. The patient has to call between 08:00 am to 11:00 am (3 hours only) for the same day appointment and these are my working hours therefore I cannot book an appointment. If I need to book an appointment for a certain day as per my availability, I cannot do that. Whoever introduced this rule, must have sent his common-sense on holidays while he/she was making the rule.

I have been a patient for over 10 years. I need to make appointments sometimes and have no issue making appointments with whatever system is currently available. I get a response that day, and get an appointment that day or if it is with my preferred doctor I might need to wait for a few days. The doctors also book in follow ups as needed. I also have no issues getting a blood test and the results come back quickly. I have found there level of response to be very high and it did not change in the pandemic. If the issue can't be resolved by their online booking system, the reception staff are happy to try and help and sometimes there's no wait!

Absolutely brilliant service every time. I had to cancel a nurseβs appointment as Iβd be travelling on the day. Called yesterday afternoon to rebook. The receptionist was so accommodating and offered me an appointment yesterday itself. Saw Pauline (you are a star βοΈ ) half an hour later. Canβt fault Ridgeway Surgery.

Really dissappointed with the service here. I called at 8am to get a appointment to speak to the doctor. I was patient number '1' for over 1 hour. I realised something is wrong. This really annoyed me as its been so hard to get a simple appointment here. Ended up going to the surgery while having then call still on waiting. It was SHOCKING, to see the receptionists having a casual chat. The fact there were two receptionists who were doing absolutely nothing. I then approached of them I asked "Are your phone lines working?" She responded "Yes" I then showed her my phone and explained how i've been waiting for them to pick up my call. She acted very SUPRISED and went to the back and said "Oh theres 12 people waiting" This was frustrating as clearly SHE WAS LYING and was busy chatting away. She then ended up saying to me "I am sorry you may be having a technical problem" "We will call you back." My instant response was "Do you think I trust you?" "I want to make an appointment right now!" In the end, she ended up making an appointment, TWO weeks from now for a telephone consultation. For people that that work full-time who need to speak to a doctor it has become a JOKE to simply speak to the doctor. I was told by the receptionist 'Oh patient access is not used for appointments anymore, only mediciation.' So I have no choice but to call the receptionist who NEVER respond. Been with this surgery for over 15 years now, however strongly looking into changing surgery as I cant believe how awful the service has become. Question is: If someone is really ill and needs a doctor, do they have to go through the mental stress I had too? To find out two receptionists chatting away, not doing their job! Ridgeway, train your staff or patients will leave!

I have been with this surgery for over 20 years and they used to be fantastic. Key term, used to be. On attempting to use their online system to make an appointment I received a message saying it would not be available until tomorrow as it was fully booked. I opted to call them. After 30 minutes in a telephone queue of 12, I got through to someone to be told to use the online system tomorrow to book an appointment as my issue was not an emergency. No message suggested that I was wasting my time on call prior. Apparently computers and the internet are now a prerequisite for healthcare from this surgery. To say I'm disappointed at this would be an understatement - it feels like a complete waste of time if healthcare is borderline unavailable under some conditions from this place. With all honesty, it doesn't deserve 1 star at this point. It's also clear this is partly an issue with surgery policy but also it seems frankly pointless to have an online system at all if said system only operates part time. I strongly suggest looking for alternative gp surgeries.
