My father had one surgery done on one eye which was fine a little healing time but they notified him of some growth on the other eye. The appointment came through to have the other eye done and he was referred to following the surgery, 2 weeks on and his eye is swollen bloodshot in severe pain can’t see a thing, called for an appointment and they booked one within the hour , we arrived and told it’s 2-3 hours long?? For what ? They said to go through it all the stages but he has already had all of this done the poor man is in severe pain can’t see , swollen eye and was booked in for an emergency check up ! Not impressed at all

My husband recently had cataract surgery at the Bromley clinic. First eye went well no problems. When he went to have the second I done, he said he felt everything they were doing and the op went on longer than the first. After the op his vision was distorted and colours not right. Went back, they said he had pressure behind his eye and was prescribed medication and told to go back a week later. He returned eyesight still hadn’t improved. Did all the test and just sent him away again to come back in a month’s time to see a surgeon. After many appointments cancelled by them, one when we were 10 minutes away! He finally was seen by a surgeon to say it was because he had a stigma in that eye and that’s what was causing the distorted vision. They told him to go to opticians and they would be able to prescribe glasses to help. Went to opticians told by them there was nothing they can do with glasses , he also did not have a stigma, so they were obviously just fobbing by husband of as an NHS patient and didn’t seem to care My husband has been left with distorted vision in one eye and spa Medica don’t care. I would not recommend the Bromley branch to anyone needing cataract surgery

Absolutely should be closed down!! Done both my mums cataracts. After a week, she had problems with her vision. It turns out now her vision has totally gone. The surgeon at spa medica has left Debis in her eye,as the second surgeon did on the second cataract surgery 3 months later. Yet after my mother finally getting an appointment, after her check up after cataract surgerykeep phoning spa medica for 6 months. To be out off and told it can take upto a year for the surgery to actually work. Should be closed down, think you can make people blind and get away with it. As your hygiene and health and safety means nothing to you. Please avoid this place like the plaque. Am being totally honest. As I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what my mother has.

Exceptional it was like a well oiled but personal conveyor belt. The day of surgery just like the first appointment, in and out, no unnecessary hanging about. Staff were great and I was kept informed of what was going on at all times. Very pleased to have had it done. Hopefully they will be doing my other eye in the very near future.

Operation was straight forward all efficient and quick. Staff friendly knowegeable The main problem was the 3hr wait in a freezing waiting room. We discovered that patients were given appointments10 mins appart so a wait is ineviatable which I don't think is acceptable . Also coffee from machine awful biscuit selection great though! ineviatabl9obveoysly factored in the syasystem ggiven given appointments just 10minute appartsi

Spa Medica were for me were very competent and efficient. Yes wait time was a little longer than expected on day of procedure but considering the help they are giving to the NHS overflow and the speed in which from pre op appointment to actual appointment was faultless. Cleanliness and friendly staff who kept you at ease throughout the day. Highly recommended you

Went for a laser ( YAG) treatment.Staff generally seems to be nice. But the nurse who put the drops in my eye didn't know what she was doing. The drops never went inside my eyes and when my turn come to see the doctor the pupils were not diluted. He put more drops and another 45 minutes waiting still it didn't workMore drops and another 45 minutes waiting. So careless and inconsiderate workers. For my second eye, after 6 weeks 2 days before the appointment I got the first call for reminding the appointment at 11am,2nd call at 1.15 to cancel it.Because somebody booked me in fo cataract operation, not the Laser I needed. There is an appointment next day or I could go.NO THANK YOU.I KEEP MY EYES AS AN IT IS. LOST CONFIDENCE all together in their capability and experience.
