Do not join this surgery. The waiting room windows covered in black mould, Reception staff are rude unhelpful. Doctors lack basic people skills and humanity. Fit note and documentation always filled out incorrectly. follow up appointments never happen. I can never get an appointment same day but at other surgery’s you can get this. I Shouldn’t have to fill out a 30 minute e consultation about my whole medical history every time I need to see my doctor. Doctor Chandra specifically has a disgusting bedside manner. When visiting for my last appointment my mum came in with me as I needed the extra support. Every question we asked the doctor we were rushed, dismissed and she couldn’t even answer my mums queries without being rude and sarcastic. she needs some basic training on how so be a bit kinder and compassionate. I was sitting in her room sobbing due to how small she made me feel (this persons meant to be helping me feel better). She couldn’t even look at me. I said multiple times hormone treatments don’t work for me and make me even more unwell I do NOT want the coil yet every appointment it’s being pushed to me, do I not have a choice of my own treatment? On top of all of this my health has just declined rapidly in the last 5 years. The ridgeway surgery has offered me no help or clarity with that, therefore not any closer to a diagnosis.

I’d love to be able to write a review which is positive and jovial. Unfortunately this practices staff ensure that is impossible. The reception staff bear more than a passing resemblance to Rottweiler guard dogs in their demeanour attitude and appearance. They are amongst the most obstructive and unhelpful nhs staff I have had the misfortune to interact with in my sixty years of life. Rest assured that I shall be lodging a formal complaint with the primary trust. As I video’d the whole sorry incident which was farcical and totally unnecessary. Were I a doctor at this practice I would be truly ashamed and embarrassed at the level of service they are providing the community with. You only have to read the goggle reviews to see that there is a serious problem with the reception staff. The community of Chingford deserves far far better than this shambles.

My husband had a blood test at the practice today. As always he made his appointment with Natasha. She has a lovely manner and this sample was quick and painless as it always is with her. Natasha is always professional and a credit to the surgery.

I was worried when I first moved to the area and the time came to find a new GP, as my previous one was phenomenal, but feel lucky to have found The Ridgeway. I’m surprised to see the negative reviews, as I am extremely happy with the service this surgery has provided my family and I. The receptionists I’ve spoken to have all been friendly and compassionate. I’ve seen multiple doctors and nurses at the surgery and all are fantastic - a few go above and beyond however overall I believe everyone is very helpful and understanding. I resonate with people’s frustration at the wait times, but I don’t believe surgery staff are at fault, as I’ve had appointments as early as 8am and as late as 7pm (surgery closes at 8pm on some days!) showing just how long the working hours are. Fingers should be pointed higher up the chain, and a little friendliness even while frustrated goes a long way.

Never a good experience having to go here. Breeds panic in me if I'm honest. I recently had a locum actually listen to me and I ended up in tears because I couldn't believe someone was taking the time to listen and care. Sadly her work was wasted as even though things were found and I have multiple symptoms I was shut down on the next visit by a different member. Imagine having an auto immune issue but you are only allowed to say one thing at a time and are terrified of going here because of the treatment you receive. Imagine how many years to get diagnosed. They hate it when you go for natural remedies but really there is no other choice. I wouldn't want their poison anyway. If you want a smear or jab they'll be all over you. Quick in and out without the need to be human. I once had a visit with one of the female doctors who was so nice that day I questioned my sanity. Had I missed something on previous visits? Had I been too judgemental? No, she had a form she wanted me to fill out at the end grading her performance. Performance being an accurate description. Another time I found a lump in my breast but the doctor had a assumed I'd come for a follow up on my stomach issues. Being quite shy I let her speak and at the end mentioned the lump. She told me I could only ask about one thing then with a huff told me to get on the table quickly. Oh yes it was a lump. What a pain. Now she had more work to do. So that was booked and off I went like a good little number and asked no more questions. The only other time I ever felt able to visit the Dr's was when Dr kaz was there who also started out as a locum. It's about money. That's all.

Ridgeway surgery have been asked on at least 20 occasions over the last 13 months to provide my medical records to a company who were going to provide me with life insurance and critical illness as I have two young daughters. Even after multiple phone calls, emails and letters they have refused. After a medical emergency I'm now uninsurable.. if someone had taken 10 minutes to send my records I would be getting support now. I'm not. Equally, if I do get sick we have no financial support. This is all because they refused a simple request on multiple occasions: when I questioned why they hadn't done it the answer was "it's not our priority". Disgusting service..

Exceptionally good team at the ridgeway, I'm sorry that a lot of other reviewers had a bad experience, but for us we have been treated very efficiently and effectively. The staff were very understanding and patient with us, which was extremely reassuring.

Absolutely disgusting, extremely rude staff. Unprofessional doctors. I had the sad experience of attending the surgery only for a letter. In 5 min of short stay and every single person had a complaint to make. The staff’s second sentence out their mouth is ‘I am sorry- you can make a complaint’ I could write pages of what’s wrong with this surgery in particular, with keeping in mind the overall pressure ALL surgeries are in. If you registered at this surgery, you are doomed, there is NO hope for any medical service in your fate.

The doctor's behaviour is appalling. Rude, demeaning, condescending. She refused to do the examination, because she decided that the patient doesn't speak English well enough, and proceeded to berate her for not having gone to get blood tests done - even though that was never even mentioned beforehand. I know because I handled making all the appointments. When I went along the second time as a chaperone/translator she was still awful and tried to lecture me as well. I wasn't even needed there, because the patient understood everything and explained everything herself. This is not how a healthcare professional should conduct herself.

The young receptionist booking telephone appointments is rude and speaks with a very condescending tone. Communicating with her seems unavoidable to get an appointment which is a real shame for all patients.
