I wouldn’t recommend because whoever runs the whole surgery put rules in place that they must know are not popular with the public. Good - so,me nice staff on reception and doctors (if you can get and appointment) Bad - they dont let you book appointments in advance. You have to have to call at 8am and scramble for appointments on the same day. They will say we dont book appointments in advance. So if you work then you cant arrange time of work for an appointment. Or you can try taking the day off to try amd get an appointment on the same day. Noone does that. But if you go in it is often completely empty so why are there no same dame appointment slots???? They want to book phone appointments alot. Do people want this? Face to face is needed lokdown is over now and we want to be seen please. If you email in they dont respond. 2 star for some of the doctors IF you can bet an appointment. But no point if you cnt get to see them. So the other reviews are correct. Managers must see the reviews but dont want to change things but why? Receptionists get slated in these comments but come on they don’t make the rules about appointments thye must just be tired of getting in the neck.

If I could give a minus rating I would but unfortunately you have to give 1 star. Tried for 2 days at various times to find out the time of my appointment as it’s not on my NHS app, after spending all morning trying to get through by phone, I’ve had to leave work early as I work in London and when I walk into the surgery still on hold on the phone (all the way from London) . When I reach the surgery it is empty of people and receptionist was sitting there , I walked to the receptionist with my phone still playing that annoying on hold music, I asked a question about answering the phone and she replied she was busy lol( what for 2 day’s )and she was alone, but I had passed the other receptionist on the way in to the surgery. It has a sign in reception saying they are one of the best in the borough, if this is as good as it gets in the borough, I wouldn’t like to see the worst. The surgery I’ve been at for many years , but it’s absolutely on the floor as most reviews prove. It’s not getting any better since my last review it’s getting worse.

My appointment today was for a blood test. I was well cared for and reassured, which was really needed because it can be difficult to get blood during a draw. She expertly did it in one go!

I visited surgery in end of March. As suddenly had loss of weight. GP was excellent he explained me all different test which will be done. And again I was been call to visit GP as results was abnormal. I was immediately started on initial dose of medication and side effects was explained. And I was immediately referred to Hospital Consultant for further investigation. And until I was seen by hospital GP or Nurse gave a call every few weeks to check how I was. I can say both surgery staff and All GPs has really showed that they care for their patients health and well being. I am so happy that I am registered with St Albans Surgery.

I've seen Dr Hara today and extremely satisfied for the treatment he has given me. He is so kind and patience to listen my problems and sort it out quickly. Highly recommend the surgery. Never had any issues with appointments too.

Horrible place the receptionists are so unprofessional when I was in there today there was an older lady with short brown hair she was on the phone to a patient she was so loud almost shouting her “confidential information” then proceeded to put the phone down on this patient u could hear the phone slam in to the holder from the back seats so disgustingly rude and then the same receptionist took a personal call on the work phones up front talking about buying someone a bracelet absolutely ridiculous so u can sit calling them for ages trying to get an appointment and not get through because they’re taking personal calls instead of doing there jobs. I went in with my sick 10 months old baby and waited 50 mins to be seen if my appointment was at 10:20 please tell me y my son hasn’t been seen at 11 that surgery is a joke on the other hand the gp and nurses are normally friendly and professional that is if u can ever get an appointment to see them

Absolutely disgusted every time i ring which might i add is my absolute last resort i try the pharmacy etc beforehand i can never get an appointment ever. The reception team are the least helpful people ive ever come across. I think the last time i had an actual appointment with the surgery was around 5 years ago its a disgrace to have a service that you cant ever use. I called today to be told they are waiting for their appointments to be put onto the system up to the 30th January... Seriously ?? Makes me livid knowing the help i need just is never there even for my children they have never been able to get appointments they say call the hub, you call the hub the hub informed me they are given 5 appointments then they refer you again to somewhere else !

Don’t know how much longer these clowns will stay open, but hope not too long. Don’t bother trying to book any appointments. They either have none (and GP is always empty) or they book you, and when you turn up, they turn you down saying that you’ve been booked with some unknown GP. 1.5 months been asking to see a doctor for a medication review. Not even once did I get what was needed, and all promises by their “doctors” ended up being nothing else but promises. Have reported.

I have been trying to get an appointment for nearly 2 months. Because I work in a school, I cannot take time off for this. It has to be an evening or non term time. Every time I ring, I get the same reply. No appointments . Ring back in 2 weeks. Of course there are no appointments available when I ring. I was told that afternoon/evening appointments are not given out over the phone. Really!! Someone inform me how i am suppose to get an appointment?!! Diabolical service. If I see that tv advert anymore saying if you are worried, call your surgery I will SCREAM!! I enquired about another matter and was told to email the surgery which I did and received this reply Notice for the Patient: Please do not request appointments and medical queries via this email. I have no words!!
