Just stopped in for a light lunch, soup of the day (tomato) with a crusty roll, so probably not much of an indicator of food quality, but it was hot and tasty and the roll was nice. Lovely country pub atmosphere a stone's throw from the motorway. Friendly and accommodating staff, and the place is cozy with a nice atmosphere.
A homely local which has served us today the most incredible 3 course Sunday lunch. The meat on the Sunday dinner is some of the most tender cuts of beef and lamb I have had in a long time probably last time was when my mom cooked a Sunday dinner. Banging dinner and a beautiful dessert all for a very reasonable price. Guinness was a lovely pint too which is getting harder to find these days WE WILL BE COMING BACK!!’

Me and my wife called here yesterday and was just in time before they stopped lunch orders, we ordered gammon and the wife had scampi, we also ordered onion rings and we couldn't finish everything, it all came out piping hot and delicious, fresh chips too, none of those frozen ones here! We were super happy we could bring our dog inside too, such a great welcoming atmosphere, lovely food, this place is bang on! I'm looking forward to next time as I want to try the fish and chips, see ya soon folks!
Delicious home meal, large portions for affordable price Everyone was lovely, service was great and even our dog was taken care of with a bowl of water and a couple of snacks.
The very best pint of Guinness I have had anywhere in the west midlands. Extra cold and tasted so fresh. Clearly a great pint. The lady who served me at the bar is. Credit to this place she was superb and excellent customer service. I can not wait to come back and try the food. Super place with excellent service and great pints.
A traditional rustic pub, interior decor in need of a bit of a makeover. That said if you want quality service and food, this is for you. We went for Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint. Table service, a set menu of traditional roast dinner on Sunday. You have a choice of 3 plate sizes and have to tell the waitress what you don't want serving otherwise you get every vegetable being cooked that day. We opted for the Medium size plate, see photo. You can opt for a single, two or three course meal. We opted for the two course, with choice of sweet, see photos. The meal was hot, tasty and well presented. What you cannot see from the photo is two good portions of turkey and two slices of gammon obscured by the vegetables. Other choices of meat were available beef, lamb and pork. Unlike many carveries there was ample gravy supplied. Top notch food and staff. As I have said in the past never judge a pub by its decor. UPDATE: Went for a Sunday Turkey Carvery, some things never change and we were glad they hadn't, fantastic food, served hot, wonderful staff, great prices, whats not to like.
Good friendly pub. Great staff and best Sunday lunch. Great Sunday lunch like your mum used to cook and real good value for money. All good local produce and wonderfully cooked.
Amazing food and service. First time visiting but definitely won't be the last. Next time we will make sure we book as it gets really busy. Excellent menu and really reasonably priced, with good sized portions.
