    I put a claim in on the 13th December ref my fridge freezer. Fridge is freezer up now and again. Engineer came out on the 20th to look at it. Opened the door said he'd need to submit a report and order parts. It's now the 2nd January and got a message saying the report is with the assessor to see if it's covered. We are having to go shopping every other day coz we don't want to put to much in it. Incase it freezes stuff we have had to throw a bit of stuff away already. I've just rang them 3 weeks on and still waiting for it to be sorted. I will definitely be cancelling this policy ASAP when my fridge freezer is done.

    Avoid this organisation at all costs– nothing but a bunch of Wild West cowboys. Had several phone calls with them before I signed up where I asked about what cover was included, was told verbally and in writing that my cover would include emergencies pertaining to locks, doors and windows. Upon my first claim, I was rejected straightaway as I was a 2nd floor tenant, and this was not covered by the T&Cs. My address has the word Apartment in it and these geniuses did not at any point think to mention if I lived in an apartment block. Before I could even declare my emergency – they spouted stuff along the lines of β€œI would be voided of insurance if I lied, or I would have to pay an engineer if it transpired it was not an emergency.” They were already setting me up for rejecting any claim, rejection came literally 60 minutes later.. Dishonest cowboys. Special mention goes to their sales team who flat out lied to me on 3 different communications including phone calls - this organisation are scum and I would caution others to avoid this scam of a company if they value their time, money and overall wellbeing.

    Total appalling service. Spoke to someone last Friday very unprofessional on the telephone no good afternoon or good morning just a grunt hello had to wait till Tuesday to see if my claim was approved told I would need to pay any outstanding premiums upfront. Well you have already Β£1500 over the last several years and this was my first claim, have insurances with domestic and general so much more polite and helpful this company Smart Cover avoid, smart it more miserable. Total poor service, to way your service has been you owe me money. Like my full premium that I have paid due to poor service you provide

    Extremely Disappointing Service – Avoid This Company I took out a home emergency cover policy with this company in good faith, expecting support in the event of a boiler failure. Unfortunately, when the boiler did break down, they rejected the claim on the grounds that "hot water was not covered"β€”completely ignoring the fact that this is a single boiler system, meaning both heating and hot water were affected. Despite multiple attempts to clarify this point, they simply ignored the facts and refused to reconsider. It gets worse. When I decided to cancel the policy and requested a pro-rata refundβ€”as clearly stated in the contractβ€”they refused, falsely claiming that a claim had been approved. I challenged this blatant inconsistency and requested a formal review, but have never received any follow-up. Their behaviour has been negligent, evasive, and at times outright dishonest. The whole experience felt like a bad joke. I strongly advise anyone considering this service to look elsewhere. You may pay for cover, but when you actually need it, don’t count on them to help.

    Awful. Similar experience to other reviewers. Tumble dryer failed. Engineer(nice chap) came out and stated it was not repairable. Offered a new machine minus Β£90 engineer call out fee plus Β£40 plus deleivery. I have challenged the fact that at no point are prices mentioned in their policy and was told these the engineer call out fees vary and therefore cannot be put into policy or advertised. This is after 10 plus phone calls. I am at the beginning of my complaint journey and if not resolved to my satisfaction I will escalate to the ombudsman after the statutory period. Please please please do not buy this insurance. It is truly awful

    Don't waste your time with Smart Cover. Honestly. If I can prevent the absolute frustration of just one person I would be happy. It took 4 months of repeated engineer visits, failed appointments, parts ordered that never arrived, engineers turning up that didn't know what happened at my last visit to finally get someone to say I needed a new dryer. Smart Cover now say I have to pay 100 pounds to get my tumble dryer as there's a 250 pound claim limit of which they have taken off the call out charge of the engineer. So after paying the policy fee for the year, which they require you to do to claim, and paying a 100 pound and waiting about for 4 months for a solution from them, I've saved myself what? 50 - 70 quid by having insurance with them. Absolute waste of time. Terrible company. I give two stars because the staff on the phone are actually nice, helpful and I've always been able to get through to them. PLEASE DONT GET INSURANCE WITH THESE PEOPLE.

    Please don’t waste your time or money. I purchased boiler insurance cover from this company and I have now had a broken boiler since September. I have give up with this company and decided to buy a new boiler. The people who deal with home emergency are not very helpful, rude, and defensive. I wish I would have paid a bit extra and gone with a more reliable reputable company. They do not employ engineers and have them readily available should you have an emergency - they just advertise the job for you and if your lucky someone decent will pick up the job and be available if your not then bad luck. Something you can really do yourself and probably more efficiently/effectively. Just really don’t bother!

    superior than warranties from the manufacturer. I have insurance that appears to be reasonably priced, has fewer exclusions than manufacturer's extended warranties, and is undoubtedly a better bargain overall. To make a modification, I had to call, and this was done immediately and politely. Thankfully, I haven't had to file a claim yet, so I can't remark on this side of the transaction.

    They will promise you a quality service before you purchase. The game changes when you make a claim, It has been 3 days since I reported an emergency boiler repair as I have no heating and hot water for 3 days now. I explained that there is a vulnerable adult in the home and was told that someone would be sent the very next day. I have not heard anything from anyone since. Do not fall for their extremely good sales tactics. After you have purchased the insurance the initial promises disappear and you are left in the lurch. Call the 24/7 helpline and it states they are closed on weekends. The line is diverted to their contractors but they have no idea of the claim you make. I have also been waiting for my policy documents since the start of my policy, I am always told that it has been emailed over but it’s never in my inbox. I also requested a paper copy to my address; again nothing. Avoid this company at all costs.
