   Visited this wonderful pub after staying locally and looking for a meal on the evening. I am so pleased I found this place. The staff were wonderful and attentive. Food was beautiful and portions were large. Offered a takeaway box for the leftovers which was a lovely touch. The car park is tricky... and when busy difficult to get out of- so please bear this in mind. Just a wonderful pub with open fire.

   Me and the wife went for tea yesterday and all I can say is nice very nice the size of meal you get is big the food was red hot has it should be and it was real food not the freezer stuff. The owner lovely and we went when it wasn't to busy so bouns. They are obviously trying to keep their prices down because two large meals two large glasses of wine and one beer £40 I know some of you might think that is expensive but it's not for the quality of food we got and drinks. Thank you we will be going back.

   Service was lovely, Menu explained to us easily. We had a mid week roast and it did not disappoint. Bought straight to the table plated, hot, plenty if gravy with an extra pot on the side and lovely fresh veg. Bargain price too! Will be returning again for sure.

   Excellent ambiance, even better food. The blackened chicken was amazing just spicy enough, venison sausage was succulent, flavoursome and the scampi was a generous portion with nice homemade chips. With extra friendly service even our dog was more than welcome. Been before and will definatly come back.

   Had a lovely meal this evening. All home cooked food. I had the gammon, other half had sirloin steak with black pudding and blue cheese. Garlic mushroom starters and chicken goujons. Will be returning for sure. Staff so lovely, warm and friendly. Great food, Great night, great pub!

   Brilliant Sunday lunch with good friends from Nottingham. Loved all the excellent nosh and so did our friends...phew! Meats were all perfectly cooked and the vegetables were 'done' just right. Yorkshire puddings with fab gravy went down a treat and the cauliflower cheese was...utterly fantastic! We'll be back...soon.
