Christmas day meal, arrived early but got seated straight away great. Family of 8 which included 2 toddlers. Starters came first to the wrong table, then there were big gaps between people in our party receiving theirs, leaving the toddlers last.Mains all except myself had the carvery, i had the salmon (which i regret). I stayed with the toddlers, expecting mine to come fresh to the table. No i was told it was ready and waiting for me at the carvery so i could get the veg. As soon as someone came back i qued. The que was very long. I got my food and tried it, it was disgusting, the "sauce" had soaked in to the pastry so it was so dry. I asked for some sauce to be told no that cant be done. Only option was gravy, who has beef gravy with salmon en croute. If its on the menu ensure there is something to go with it. It took ages for.plates to be cleared and wait for desert. The only course that was ok was desert. I could go on. 31/2 hours there in total, its a good job little ones was well behaved. I left very hungry, upset and disappointed as it had been booked as a christmas gift.

Outstanding meal this evening. Many thanks. Decided to go out for a carvery on a whim after finishing work early and popped on down (first visit, we didn't even know a carvery was down here). Greeted at the door and taken straight to a table and drinks ordered. Up to the carvery and wow! What a load of options - great meats and loads of fresh veg and potatoes. Even mac and cheese (never seen that on a carvery before but it was delicious - must try that at home). We managed to get the whole lot down in record time (hungry) and sat and enjoyed the atmosphere while we finished our drinks. We did make a slight mistake by trying to pay at the bar - sorry, didn't realise. But overall it was brilliant. The food and the service were both faultless. Under £11 for a mid-week carvery is an absolute bargain. We will be back.

We are regular visitors to the Wakefield Toby Carvery and left reviews once or twice, however after tonight’s visit I must mention how fantastic the meal was. The place was packed due to the 50% vouchers but the staff were fantastic. We were served by Caitlin and what a wonderful young girl she was. Whilst dealing with a large table in the back room, she never forgot about us and was very attentive. The carver Charlie was doing an amazing job with how busy he was but still had time to be polite and smile at every customer. The veg was all fresh and piping hot and topped up numerous times whilst we were in the queue. Roman was very warm and welcoming too when showing us to our table. Beautiful meal as always. Cheers! See you again soon

Our carvery was lovely and carved by Charlie who was really friendly as was Cassie our server. It was our first time at this location and we were made to feel very welcome. The other diners were just as friendly and the food and drinks were up to the high standards you would expect although very reasonable in price. There is plenty of parking and it's definitely worth booking online as this appears to be a popular location. We will hope to visit again very soon.

We got a lovely warm welcome as we arrived and considering just how busy it was, we were seated in no time at all. Our server James was attentive, yet without being intrusive. The carvery was excellent, a good variety of meats to choose from, plenty of hot and properly cooked veg, and they don't scrimp on the the portion sizes either! What's not to love?

The table staff were very good. They asked if we knew the process and left us with our menus. Drinks arrived quickly. The food was lovely; meat freshly carved - albeit quite thinly - good selection of meats and vegetables. I noticed the servers regularly attending to the veg to ensure it didn't dry out under the lamps. Veg was well cooked, not mushy, and quite hot. Bill quickly sorted too. One slight issue was room was very warm, probably due to our seating in close proximity to serving station. Can't be helped would ask to be seated elsewhere in future. Only a slight issue.

We was booked in for 8pm, got sat str8 away and told no turkey. When we went up to get served, the chef was no where to be seen. Waited about 5 mins before anyone came out from kitchen. We could hear arguing in back aswell. Very unprofessional. There was hardly any gammon. I don't eat beef so it was gammon and pork for me. There was no roasties and hardly any veg. Counter top looked like it not been cleaned all day. Peas were hard as was the carrots. The wholegrain mustard was absolutely vile. Never tasted anything so awful in my life and I have wholegrain mustard at home. The waiting staff were brilliant. Couldn't fault that side of it. All in all, food wasn't a pleasant experience
