Always fab for music events. Quirky little place that has a great range of drinks, and the staff are great.

Momma _els_kitchen we supplied a grazing tray for the artist Nick Harper playing here tonight. We ended up staying for the concert. The basement is a fantastic venue for a concert, cozy, intimate and very atmospheric the staff were all very pleasant, very helpful professional and friendly, they stock a wide range of spirits as you know ours is rum ! They have possibly “definitely” the nicest selection of decent rums I have seen behind a bar, I would highly recommend EBGBS.

The music area is separated from the bar by stone archways which are really low and unlit. They are very difficult to see during a gig since the lights are low. As a result, I hit my head really hard twice. I am bloody and bruised and will be going to a doctor. It would be very easy, and indeed normal for a venue, to add some glow in the dark signs.

The staff were nice and the place seemed clean. What was especially impressive is the front of house sound quality considering the difficult acoustic structure of the room. My only small issue is that half of the standing space can't see the stage, which helps to make a place look fuller, but would be difficult if a lot of people wanted to watch.

Nothing really wrong with the bar. Young crowd. My issue is that several of the speakers upstairs are blown out and sound absolutely horrible. On multiple songs with high notes it would actually hurt your ears. The DJ that night was good but let down by a terrible sound system. I didn't really hang out downstairs but the upstairs BADLY needs new sound system.

Discovered this place this place while searching for a concert for our short trip to Liverpool. Great location and the staff is really nice & helpful. Wide selection of beer and cocktails. Everything seemed very professional, including the audio setup at the concert, meanwhile it's maintaining its underground atmosphere with the "catacomb"-style basement. Really liked the visitors aswell, great to get in touch with the locals & their music scene. Pretty much my favorite experience while staying in Liverpool. Thank you for that! Greetings & cheers from Berlin, Germany.

Amazing underground bar. Great renovation which looks and feels like an American dive bar. Fantastic cocktails and great beer selection. Particular favourite is the Teo Roads - Honey Spot IPA Live bands every Saturday night.
